The Lodge at Ventana Canyon stands out for the natural beauty of it setting in the Santa Catalina Mountains above Tucson, Arizona. Despite having a mere 50 suites, it also has a full complement of resort amenities, including a dozen hard courts, two highly regarded 18-hole golf courses, and a fitness center.
Texas native Scott Anders, of Peter Burwash International, has recently taken over as director of tennis, assisted by Eric Gessner. From October through May, the weekly calendar includes some sort of clinic or drill session every day but Sunday and there are clinics for juniors of various ages afternoons during the week. In summer, the focus shifts to programs tailored to the needs of junior members of the club.

"The lodge is a great place for both the golf and tennis. We came expecting a typical vacation but what we found exceeded our expectations. With the tennis, the pros are fantastic and set up games for us throughout the week. The Head Professional Eric had me and my wife laughing so hard that we've never had so much fun on a tennis court. The pros really run a first class program there and we can't wait to go back."—L.C., Adv. Int., April 2008

"we came in as a family vacation to the ventana canyon, we visited the beautiful parks there which is so different from the temperate climate in new york. It is a very enjoyable trip.
The tennis in the lodge is excellent, the kids enjoyed the teaching of scott anders and did very well in the national opens there . Without the warm up and teaching how to play outdoors our boys would not do that well in the matches.
we also squeeze in couple of rounds of golf besides tournament and sightseeing. It was a great holiday. we specially want to thank scott to make this vacation unforgettable. He is helpful, knowledgeable and so professional in helping the boys in tennis"—K.L., Low Int., March 2008
