Here's what others have had to say about Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne.
Rate Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne
This 13-story, 450-room hotel trails along
1,200
feet of beach on the Atlantic Ocean at roughly the midpoint
of the island and a short drive from Crandon Park, site of
the annual Sony
Ericsson Open each spring. The resort takes its architectural
clues and décor from the Colonial West Indies, but
the comfort and very attentive service are all Ritz-Carlton
in marble baths, feather beds, down comforters, and Frette
linens. Among its amenities are a 20,000-square-foot spa,
five restaurants and lounges, and an oceanfront Ritz Kids
pavilion with a children's-only pool and oceanfront playground.
But the most significant amenity from the point of view of
tennis players is the 11-court facility Cliff Drysdale designed
and manages.

Tennis Staff. Former touring pro and noted tennis commentator Cliff Drysdale lives on the island and when not on the road
oversees the club's operation, offers videotaped, one-on-one lessons, and fantasy matches. He's now been joined by doubles legend Owen Davidson. The day-to-day management falls to former Aussie touring pro Mark Chellas, who heads of a staff of as many as 10 international pros in season. "We pride ourselves on our clinics," says Chellas referring to the dozen adult and junior sessions that run each week. "My theory is they should be hopping. You should feel, 'Wow! That was a workout and I learned something.' There are always several courts going, so all a guest has to do is show up and we'll put them out." Or call ahead and the affable staff will arrange a match with another guest or one of their local members. And from early June to late August, the Tennis Garden runs a summer day camp for juniors ages 7-16.
Courts & Fees. Court fees: $15/day and includes a can of balls.
Golf Courses. The resort has no golf course of its own but guests can play at the highly rated public course in nearby Crandon Park.
Sap & Fitness Center. A 20,000-square-foot spa and fitness center with 21 treatment rooms overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.
And ... There are two large outdoor pools as well as a watersports center, bike rentals, and more.
The Ritz Kids program provides supervised activities for those ages 5 to 12. It is supplemented in the summer by weeklong Summer Adventure Camp (9 a.m.-3 p.m. or 9 a.m.-noon) with a variety of activities as well as field trips to places like the Miami Children's Museum and the Miami Seaquarium
Options range from the Tuscan cuisine in Cioppino to lighter fare in Dunes Oceanfront Burger Lounge.
