The Van der Meer Tennis Center runs a year-round boarding academy for juniors with high State, Sectional, National or International ranking for long-term boarding. In addition, however, it offers a variety of short-term and summer programs. These include some boarding programs for juniors ages 12-18, who are housed and dine in courtside village. Boarders can look forward to 5-6 Hours per day of instruction, stroke and video analysis, tactical drill sessions, skill development, supervised match play, fitness conditioning, mental toughness training, and goal setting. Those 5-day sessions run early June to late August. For non-boarders and younger players the Van der Meer Center stages daily programs in summer: for Munchkins (ages 6-8), Mini-Munchkins (ages 3-5), and Junior Development (ages 9-15). During the rest of the year there are also regularly scheduled clinics for juniors ages 10-18.

Here's what others have had to say about Van Der Meer Tennis Center.
"Our daughter, 14, joined their junior program for a week during her spring break. She was welcomed by the staff as well as full time players. She really enjoyed the experience as she found it challenging and rewarding. We are looking forward to returning again this year and gladly recommend their program."—J.K., Adv. Int., February 2017
"Van Der Meer provides great instruction at an affordable price. My kids have attended for numerous years and have benefited greatly."—A.D., Adv., February 2017
"My daughter attended this camp the week after Christmas. She thoroughly enjoyed it. And as a side bonus, I was able to participate in the adult clinics being held at the Van Der Meer Shipyard location while she was attending the Junior Clinics. There was a nice variety of tennis ability so she had plenty of competition. There was also a nice variety of coaches so she received plenty of good advice. We will definitely return to Van Der Meer in the near future!"—K.B., Adv. Int., January 2017
"High level tennis for my junior tennis players. I have one tournament player and one high school player and both got to play a lot of tennis at their own level. Lots of kids present so easy to find others at your level. Lots of playing, no line drills, no waiting. Easy to make friends if going solo.
The staff were very easy and made everyone feel welcome regardless of level and kids came from all over to play. Easy to get private lessons if desired. Boarders, day campers, highly skilled players to intermediate players. A great experience for my kids. And so they went back again and again."—C.A., Adv. Int., January 2017
"We had a great experience. My 8 year old loved her week at Van Der Meer. Really super people and very serious about making the best use of the time to ensure the kids are both advancing their skills as fast as possible and having fun as well. Can't wait to go back!"—D.G., Int., January 2017
"My son attended this camp while we were vacationing on the island. His experience was so thoroughly exciting and memorable that he has spoken of nothing else since. From the point of check in to the last exhibition match was exceptionally well organized. The teachers made the most of the allotted times with the students and moved them up to different groups according to performance and growth. This was an amazing and the benefits from this camp can be seen in my son today. His work ethic has changed and he is even more enthusiastic about fitness and to get better. Thanks Van Der Meer, we will definitely come back once we are in the area."—N.F., Adv. Int., January 2017
"All 3 kids attended summer camp last year and enjoyed themselves. I could see improvement in all of their games and they met lots of great kids."—D.R., Adv., March 2015
"Best junior camp!! FUN! I feel like I have improved a lot just from one week of this junior camp!"—M.M., Adv. Int., July 2011
"Instructors were very nice and gave great instructions. Enjoyed mix of drills and match play. Have been to Nike, Wilson and Saddlebrook camps and felt this was the best. Would definitely go back!"—M.H., Adv., July 2011
"We sent our two children for a weeklong camp during Spring Break. The Pros were top notch and made the children feel comfortable. They were pushed to perform at a higher level of competition and came home much better tennis players. I thought the comditioning drills were fabulous. There were no negatives to think of."—K.L., April 2011
"My son participated in the week-long spring break camp, and absolutely loved it. The instructors were exceptional, and really made it fun for the kids, yet challenging. I liked the 2 hour break for lunch...it gave us time to have picnics on the beach, before the afternoon session. We'll be back!"—M.R., Adv., April 2011
"My daughter attended the camp last week and had a wonderful time. She has had a moderate interest in tennis to date(she will be 8 soon). After attending the camp she can't wait to get back onto the court. Thank you as the passion that the instructors conveyed each day has made her really have fun and enjoy the game."—L.T., Adv., April 2011
