When the Four Season Resort Nevis opened in 1991, it guaranteed that it would attract the attention of tennis players by building a racquet sports complex with eight hard, red clay, and artificial grass courts and later supplemented those with four pickleball courts, all wrapped around the central plaza of the Sports Pavilion. Although the tennis still has to compete with the beach—a battle it will almost always lose between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.—and it also share center stage with a Robert Trent Jones, III golf course laid out on the slopes of the 3,232-foot dormant volcano of Nevis Peak directly behind. Nevertheless, this has emerged as one of the foremost tennis destinations in the Caribbean.
A tiny volcanic island, roughly 8 miles in diameter, Nevis lies just across a shallow channel called The Narrows from its sister island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean’s Lesser Antilles. The name derives from the Spanish “Nuestra Señora de los Nieves,” which means “Our Lady of the Snows,” presumably for the white clouds that often shroud the top the Nevis Peak. In the 18th century, its sugarcane plantations generated so much wealth for its then British inhabitants that it came to be known as the “Queen of the Caribees.” Old sugarcane mills still dot the landscape, and several of plantation great-houses have been converted to inns. Elsewhere, Georgian stone buildings survive in the capital city of Charlestown and in several of the island’s numerous churches, including St. Paul’s Anglican Church, which dates to 1830.
Ultimately, though, what I remember most from my visits to Nevis are the warm, genuinely friendly people. And one place to meet them is on the tennis court. Peter Burwash International has managed this tennis facility since the resort opened. Almost since the beginning, the PBI pros here have sought to involve the hotel’s management and staff in tennis, and to encourage local participation, with the quite practical goal of having a diverse stable of players to draw on when guests come looking for matches.
Tennis Staff: PBI pro Eric Thorel directs the programming. Originally from France, Eric has run racquet programs with Peter Burwash International for over 30 years at some of the top clubs and resorts worldwide. In his formative years, Eric played competitively and attended a High-Performance Coaching & Management internship at the IMG Academy in Florida. He is also a certified USPTA Elite professional, PTR L2, USTA Sport Science and Youth Development. He inherits a well-run program of private lessons, adult clinics, game matching, and a weekly social mixer that brings together locals and guests. There's also a "Never Touched a Racquet" clinic which introduces new comers to the basic skills of hitting a tennis and/or pickleball. During school holidays, the resort offers "Red-Orange-Green" junior clinics, and Eric is now training the St Kitts & Nevis U12-14-16 national juniors.
The racquets facility is also open to the residents, and a ball-machine is available, so there's no shortage of hitting and playing opportunities, especially during the high season.
Court Complex: Laid out singly or in pairs, the two hard courts—one with bleachers—two artificial grass courts, four red-clay courts, and four pickleball courts wrap around the two-story golf-and-tennis clubhouse in an area of the resort known as the “Sports Pavilion,” which also encompasses the spa and fitness center. Weathered wooden pavilions at the edge of the courts provide shade, benches, and a supply of chilled water, tropical fruit juice, towels, and scented chilled towels. Five of the courts have lights. In addition, the resort has four pickleball courts to take advantage of the growing interest in that racquet sport.
Off Court
Beach: Pinney’s Beach stretches for four miles along this western coast of Nevis. The section that borders the Four Seasons has a berm seeded with low grasses and plants to protect the resort from the sea. Four supremely comfortable beach houses, each with a flat-screen TV, room service, and lounge chairs, stand atop the berm and can be rented for the day. Behind them and to the east is an infinity pool and wading pool for families, the open-air Caribbean-American On The Dune, and the watersports center, which has Hobie cats, kayaks, seaboards, paddleboats, snorkel gear, stand-up paddleboards and more—non-motorized equipment is complimentary. There is another, quieter pool for adults only at the southern end of the property.
Golf Courses: Designed by Robert Trent Jones, III., this 18-hole course climbs up and down the lower slopes of the 3,232-foot dormant volcano of Nevis Peak. The 15th is among the most spectacular, requiring a 240-yard carry across a ravine to reach the fairway while green vervet monkeys provide commentary from the adjacent trees, though for stunning views, the 9th hole stands out, a fairway that spills down the mountain slope toward the Caribbean and St. Kitts beyond.
Spa & Fitness Center: For tennis players, the Sports Pavilioncould scarcely have a better location, just off the plaza that borders the courts. The Fitness Center contains an array cardio machines, each with its own TV screen, arrayed along a wall with windows on the tropical foliage and Nevis Peak outside. Behind those machines is a row of LifeFitness stations, supplemented by dumbbells and freeweights. The Spa has a dozen treatment rooms, six of them in tiny cottages with cedar-shake roofs, yellow clapboard siding, and white gingerbread trim. They flow through a courtyard filled with tropical gardens. Guests can use the time before or after treatments to relax in an air-conditioned lounge or sit outside on a covered patio paved with stones or around a plunge pool with views of Nevis Peak or around a second pool with a waterfall. Treatments range from a variety of traditional massages to body wraps, skin-care services, manicures, and pedicures. Room service delivers spa cuisine.
The resort also offers scuba diving lessons and boat dives, catamaran snorkel tours, deep-sea fishing excursions, guided kayak tours, and a Laser sailing school.
Children's programs: The “Kids for All Seasons” program accepts children ages 3 to 9 for a full-day of supervised recreation, creative and educational activities highlighted by a sea turtle education program that focuses on Nevis’s endangered sea turtles. For others, there is an air-conditioned games room with Foosbal, a pool table, various board and video games.
Dining: The signature restaurant is the new EsQuilina, which offers breakfast buffet in the morning and a vibrant Mediterranean-inspired menu in the evening. My favorite, however, is Mango in a former plantation beach club at the northern end of the property. Steps from the water and open to the breeze, it specializes in West Indian-inspired fare like crab and mango salad, Mango’s famous glazed ribs, locally caught whole fried snapper or a Caribbean roti, washed down with, say, a Mangojito made with the local Brinley mango rum. In addition, there is the On the Dune restaurant and bar near the beach and pool for light fare during the day and Kastawey, a beach bar located at the southern end of the property, serves up creative rum cocktails and light bites featuring locally sourced ingredients from land and sea.
As an alternative, you can catch a cab to dine at Montpelier Plantation or the Golden Rock Inn, or stroll up the beach to celebrity favorite Sunshine’s (don’t miss their Killer Bees, a rum drink), Chevy’s, or the Double Deuce.
Accommodations
The resort comprise both rooms and suites and luxury villas. The rooms and suites can be found in two-story, shingle-roofed clusters faced in weathered wood and white stucco with latticework trim. In general, they follow the curve of Pinney’s Beach behind an expanse of lawn, gardens, and the occasional palm tree. These are spacious, light-drenched accommodations have been decorated in chic Caribbean style. First floor rooms open out onto patios and thus have direct access to the beach; second-floor rooms afford more privacy and have balconies. All are equipped with a variety of creature comforts, including flat-screen televisions, coffee makers, complimentary WiFi, and oversize marble baths with soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers. And in a boon to tennis players, each cluster of rooms has a free guest laundry (there’s even a package of detergent)—something you rarely find at an upscale resort but one that also partly explains why Four Seasons Nevis is popular with families. The luxury villas range from one to seven bedrooms and feature large living areas, fully equipped kitchens, and expansive balconies and terraces along with private pools or plunge pools.
Getting there
Travel Instructions: The nearest airport is Vance W. Amory International Airport (NEV) at the north end of Nevis, which has service from Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands. The alternative is Robert Llewllyn Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) on the nearby island of St. Kitts, which has direct flights from Miami, Charlotte, Atlanta, New York, Newark, Toronto and London. The Four Seasons staff provide transport from the airport by private taxi and boat directly to the resort pier.
My wife and I are competitive players and we could not have asked for a better coach than Max. His tips were very useful and his patience limitless. It was a joy to take first lessons with him. The tennis complex is simply amazing and Leon, the Aussie Tennis Director, does an outstanding job with his programs.

I had a great experience at the resort, not just with the tennis but overall. The facility is one of the most beautiful places I have been too. The tennis courts providing not only hard courts but clay as well and it was a real treat to have both. The tennis director and pro, Leon Patchett, was not only a superb player but teacher as well and was able to provide helpful advice on all aspects of the game. He was a real gentleman and knowledgeable about the game, not only the physical aspects but also the mental aspects of game. His staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I have played and visited many tennis facilities throughout a lot of the world and would rate the Nevis Four Season as one the of the top resorts I have been to. I would not hesitate to go back and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to play tennis in a beautiful setting with first class accommodations.

Our kids absolutely loved the junior clinics that Max and Nicola offered!

Tennis at the Four Seasons Nevis is always such a relaxing and active tennis work out. The hard courts and clay are just the Best! In a tranquil garden setting mature palms of many varieties and colorful fauna. It just does not get any better for a Tennis Venue.
CE
The Four Seasons Resort Nevis has incredible tennis facilities (hard courts and clay courts) and I received top notch instructions from coach Max.

Tennis coach Nicola Reynolds was highly professional, efficient, talented and utterly charming.

The experience my wife and I had was outstanding. We are both avid tennis players and our instructional experience with both Nicola and Leon was absolutely fantastic. The weekly mixer we attended was a great social setting and the daily clinics had both great drills as well as lots of game strategy. The strategic knowledge I gained from my private instruction will pay great dividends in my weekly matches. I particularly enjoyed playing on the red clay. The facility has a great championship golf course with tremendous views of neighboring islands as well. That was a bonus to the trip. Playing golf with monkeys in the trees is an incredible experience. Can’t wait to go back!

We selected the Four Seasons Resort Nevis for Spring Break largely because of the world class tennis operation Leon runs. The programming includes daily Pee Wee Drill Clinics for age 5+ at 9am, daily Adult Clinics at 9am and 10am, Mixed Doubles Mixers as well as exceptional private instruction on both clay and hard courts. At many Caribbean resorts, tennis is more of an afterthought with courts primitively maintained, but Four Seasons Nevis places tennis at the fore. From the on court instruction to the cold scented towels and complimentary Gatorade off court, the operation is first class. We appreciated immensely the opportunity to be active and elevate our game during our family vacation!

When our family goes away on vacation, I always look for comprehensive tennis offerings to ensure that I can get some good workouts and plenty of court time. as a competitive tennis player, it is important to me to ensure that there are multiple teaching professionals who can provide both instruction and hitting lessons. At the same time, I want to ensure that there are also plenty of other activities for my family members who are less interested in tennis. Having been to a number of resorts across the US and in the Caribbean looking for this balance, I can confidently say that the Four Seasons in Nevis is one of the best. In particular, I don’t think that there is a better tennis resort for competitive tennis players in the Caribbean; the tennis staff from Peter Burwash International, led by Leon Patchett, are awesome and the pro shop, facilities and maintenance of the courts are top notch. We looked at a number of options for our family vacation this year and chose the Four Seasons in Nevis because of the combination of tennis staff/facilities, golf course, spa and tropical location….and having just gotten back, we were not disappointed and will certainly go back again. It is really hard to beat the combination of hospitality and service of a Four Seasons on a great tropical island with country club amenities.
PR
Top class tennis resort. Our coach Nicola was incredibly professional , very attentive, enthusiastic and a wonderful instructor. One of the best coaches I have ever had. The facilities were excellent , always easy to book as they have a number of courts both clay and hard. Courts were in excellent condition , there were also great Clínics and mixers to join, something for everyone .
BT
Best-in-class Tennis and Golf facilities offering lighted clay and hard-courts as well as a Robert Trent Jones II golf course with incredible scenic vistas of the Caribbean. Both facilities offer world-class instructors. Leon Patchett (Coach, Red Sport, Tennis Australia) runs the Tennis Program and Keith Larson (PGA West, The MacLean School) runs the Golf Program. If you’re a sports enthusiast this is the best in the Caribbean!

The Four Season Resort Nevis is a resplendent vacation getaway on its own (quiet beaches, great island restaurants, the most kind and genuine staff), but with the incredible tennis facilities and instruction it is also a tennis player’s haven. I took private lessons with Leon and several group clinics with Nicola, both of whom were top-notch instructors as well as positive and fun individuals who make a point to build a relationship with each player that comes on the court. Nicola did a great job with the clinics. She had a variety of drills for both small and large groups and made the time enjoyable and worthwhile for players of all levels. Leon’s instruction was outstanding. He quickly discerned the weak spots in my rusty game and got to work right away addressing the weaknesses and fine tuning my strengths. He provided easy-to-understand instruction to help me ‘get it’ and tips to recover my strokes both in lesson with him and on my own after returning home. Even in a short period of time I saw tremendous improvement in my game! And If you want it, he’ll give you a killer workout on the court!!
KD
Some experiences are good, some are great and then some are REALLY GREAT!! Tennis at The a four Seasons Nevis with Leon and Nicolet was the best experience of our tennis vacations. Learning and having fun is a mix that is necessary when taking lessons on vacation. Leon and Nicolet made this tennis experience incredibly educational while having fun every day making it the highlight of our Nevis vacation.
GC
Katie in Nevis is AMAZING. She is kind patient and her teaching style really resonated. Also gave great local reccomendations which I much appreciated.
PW
Leon was amazing. We had a large group with 17 family members all wanting lessons and courts daily. He was able to respond and meet our needs with all the daily changes happening. He even responded to changes after tennis was closed by email to accommodate a change by showing up before tennis even opened the next morning. I was lucky enough to take a few lessons with Leon and he truly helped my game a lot in the short time we were together. This a great spot to go if you love tennis and want to play a lot during your family vacation.
AC
I continue to be extremely impressed by the Four Seasons Nevis tennis program. The head pro, Leon Patchett, and his staff worked with my family (including two children) and me over a ten day period. Leon is an outstanding player himself and thus, playing against him is challenging and his instruction, from a child to an advanced player, was exceptional. The entire teaching staff is outstanding, especially for young children for whom the pee-wee and young children’s clinics are ideally suited. The facility is one of the finest I have visited; with red clay and hard courts, seating areas for each court and lights for evening tennis. The Four Seasons tennis program is ideal for my family and one of the annual vacations to which my family looks forward to each year!
JO
I chose Four Season Nevis because I wanted a beach side vacation where I could enjoy and improve my tennis game. I spent the mornings with Tennis Director Leon Patchett. Leon is an excellent coach and a lovely guy, he has coached all over the world and brings a wealth of experience to the tennis court. He identified my bad habits and worked patiently with me to correct them and improve my overall game. The sessions were great fun and I left feeling very encouraged. The 6 hard and 4 clay courts are well maintained and all the staff are friendly and helpful. After tennis I would spend the rest of the day reading on the beach or by the pool, I’m not a golfer but the course looks stunning. The restaurant choices are excellent for lunch & dinner. I highly recommend Leon and this resort, I can’t wait to return and work more on my game!
ST
Our family and friends had a wonderful stay at the Four Seasons Nevis Resort. Every single staff member is so friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful, so is the spa, golf on site and the food is delicious. The tennis pro Leon Patchett is fabulous. He is so professional, informative, and fun to be around. We have enjoyed his lessons at Little Dix Bay for years and are excited to continue to learn from him here in Nevis. The courts are in wonderful condition with plenty to choose from. The weekly mixer includes local players and is a pleasure. Our group of all ages enjoyed our visit immensely.
HM
Our children loved the coach, Leon and wanted to do more lessons than what we arranged despite it being super hot. Also my husband and I had some tennis sessions and they were excellent. I improved my tennis considerably and learnt a lot with a lot of fun!
JS
Kip kept me moving on the court. It seemed like he was very knowledgable. The techniques he showed me worked well. It was a beautiful, nice environment. Locations were conveniently located. The scenery is beautiful. We never had any difficulty getting a court when we wanted to play. The pools were nice as was the beach.
CS
During my vacation my family and I spent lots of time playing tennis. I took a few lessons with the general manager, Kip Koross. He taught me to have a better technique overall and made me a better athlete. The staff were attentive to make sure we had plenty of cold water and the cold towels were a great idea. The court booking process was simple and organized. All in all my tennis experience at this resort was great and was an amazing experience. The pool and beach were amazing. We got to know the workers and they were very friendly. There were little lizards everywhere which was kind of cool. One downside was the birds that were fed too much and would bother people. But the whole monkey presence was very interesting even though they would be hard to see. Every day there would be a snack hand out that was very kind. The restaurants seemed too expensive but when I think about it the food was exquisite. This resort was absolutely worth the travel.
PS
I can’t say enough good things about our tennis experience at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis. From the first day when we went into the pro shop, we were always greeted by name- the first day with a nice welcome packet. The staff was always courteous and helpful. We met the instructor, Kip and we planned our week of instruction and clinics. The first day of instruction Kip listened to my goals for the week and immediately identified my problem areas and what we should work on. Our family played on our own whenever we wanted to play- the courts were always well stocked with towels and water and cool, icy washcloths. (The variety of demo rackets was adequate for my purposes- more serious players may want to bring their own.) After a week of at least 4 instructions and 4 clinics with Kip, I would say that he has permanently changed my tennis game for the better. He identified my weaknesses and had me correct and repeat- a process that I’m sure took a lot of patience. Kip brings a wealth of experience and tennis knowledge to his instruction, and is a very nice and interesting person as well! I would highly recommend this resort for families with older children, or couples or individuals wanting to improve their game while enjoying a beautiful luxury resort.
BS
Fantastic tennis resort!! We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis for a week. We did the tennis package – my wife, myself and our two boys. We had lessons with Kip, the tennis instructor, and also did some clinics. Kip was a great tennis pro- providing clear and professional instruction as well as fun drills and clinics. The pro shop staff was helpful and always one step ahead of us, attending to all of our tennis needs. I highly recommend this resort especially for families of teens and older looking for a quality tennis vacation.
BB
The Four Seasons, Nevis is the ultimate getaway. You are treated to the most outstanding service accompanied by a truly breathtaking resort. As an avid tennis player I would have to say my mornings spent on the court with my tennis pro, Chris, were the highlight! The food was a close second, simply amazing!
LK
It’s an amazing and outstanding tennis destination . We had such a great time playing in the mornings clinics . Kids were exited for their afternoon tennis class. Highly qualified coaches and outstanding facilities . My family and I had gorgeous time and will definitly go back for more tennis and fun .
TW
The resort is beautiful and the tennis was a highlight of my trip. Kip’s clinics were engaging and I enjoyed them daily during my stay in addition to my private lessons. The clay courts were wonderful and so helpful when there were slight rain showers. The pro shop and staff was great. I would recommend that any tennis player at any level will have an enjoyable experience.
AW
The tennis program at the Four Season in Nevis is great. The clinics were awesome and the private instruction was top notch. I only wish I had another week to improve my game! Both pros were friendly, helpful and provided great instruction. They were some of the best clinics I have ever attended. My kids took lessons as well and enjoyed every minute of it!
MG
We have thoroughly enjoyed our clinics and lessons with Kip Koross at the Four Seasons for the past 2 years in a row. The group clinics are active and filled with tips for strategy and tactics. The individual lessons are focused and superb.
KC
My expectations were surpassed with the quality of coaching provided during our recent visit. The open drills run by Kip were fast paced, strategic and he readily adjusted to the varying skill levels of the players in attendance. I really felt great tips were provided on both strokes and doubles/singles strategy.
MC
The tennis program is top notch with multiple options for adults and children.
JO
Nevis was four star all the way. The clinics were fun and engaging and the instructors were amazing. I learned more during a week there than months of lessons at home.
NC
I have enjoyed a different tennis experience everyday of my 8 night vacation. The group clinics are fun and I was able to hook up with others for a match. I also had some 1:1 coaching with Kip Koross who is a first class and effective instructor. The facilities are great and the resort caters for all age groups and players of all standards.
MR
great facility, wonderful instruction.
LS
I have been going to Nevis Four Season for many years. I go there because the tennis facilities are great as is the instruction. I have never had a bad lesson. All the pros are great.
PL
Picked up a tennis racquet for first time in 28 years on this vacation. I ended up taking three lessons and playing five days in a row. I had a great time. My instructor, Kip, was patient, provided solid instruction, and made my lessons fun. Looking forward to coming back and seeing Kip again.
AK
The Peter Burwash run tennis program is exceptional at the Four Seasons Nevis. As a competitive player, I found the level of instruction phenomenal. The attention to detail both technical and tactical was astounding and the instructor Riccardo Farci epitomizes both terms in”tennis professional”, he is an extremely talented player and coach who can bring your game to the next level. He is also a true professional, well thought out daily instruction designed to fit your level, knowledgable and an expert in tennis fundamentals, yet approachable and easy going. He and the program are able to accommodate coaching young children to seasoned competitive players. The facilities are perfectly maintained in a stunning setting with both hard courts and clay courts available. I have returned to the resort for the amazing amenities, but equally for the truly outstanding tennis program.
RG
I have been to the Four Seasons Resort Nevis for vacation during each of the past 4 years and will be going back next year. I suppose that it is all I need to say. Let me add that the hotel and setting are beautiful, the service is wonderful and the food is outstanding. One of the major reasons for returning is the quality of the tennis. The complex is superb . The teaching staff is excellent with adults and children and most importantly understand that tennis is a game and meant for enjoyment. I have been to many resorts and the Four Seasons is by far, my favorite.
EA
Kip Koross at FS Nevis is a wonderful teacher. As a beginning tennis player, Kip was strategic in providing 3 key elements designed to improve my forehand and backhand. An amazing and beautiful setting for instruction. FS Nevis is not to be missed.
AS
four Seasons Nevis is fabulous, this was our 26th visit to the resort since it opened. Tennis is the best and chris Myrold the head pro is the best I have ever worked with. However I would like to see tennis packages offered by the resort
ZA
Spent a week at this amazing truly 5 star resort. Took the tennis package (worth it) for 5 lessons with their fantastic pro Chris Myrold, as well as 3 clinics and had a couple of matches with local resident, and used ball machine as well. My only suggestion to management is to advertise the superb tennis program and facilities a bit better. By their website one sees it as an equivalent to kayaking etc! Thanks again Chris! Great beach, food etc as well
PS
Great tennis, great atmosphere, great pros, great facility. Returning Guest.
MG
My partner and I always LOVE the tennis clinics and golf lessons. We look forward to them on our visits to the Four Seaspns Nevis. The tennis clinics are informative, very well thought out and add elements to our game that we use continuously. They are also a GREAT workout. I’d say if there was any suggestion it would be to have a few longer clinics during the week. Maybe 90 minute sessions. The courts are all top notch and well maintained. The instructors know their tennis for sure.
EK
Had a great time in the junior clinics and taking semi-privates with my Mom… Chris and Kip were great instructors. Played tennis everyday!
TA
A superb resort and tennis experience. My lessons with Chris, the head pro, were exceptional and highly productive. Don’t miss coming to Nevis!!!
KS
Justin Work was a fantastic instructor. My son loved his lessons and looked forward to them every day.
KD
When you go to Nevis, the tennis is amazing! You will never find a better instructor or courts in the world.
DF
Fantastic tennis facilities. The pros, particularly Chris and Kip, were outstanding and my game noticeably improved after the week. We can’t wait to return to the FS Nevis!
AP
I loved playing tennis at the Four Seasons Nevis more than I can express! I’m almost 13 and have been playing for years. Chris, Kip and Justin helped me so much, and my entire family had such fun playing together. I can’t wait to go back!
NP
When we go away on vacation, we always look for the tennis programs first since our entire family plays. We have been to a number of the tennis resorts in the USA and Caribbean. The program and the FS Nevis is by far one of the top ones. We looked at a number of options for vacation this year and went back to Nevis for the 2nd time in large part because of Chris Myrold and the facilities and the amazing tennis and fun that we had last year. We were not disappointed. The combination of a Four Seasons on a great tropical island, PBI, and Chris Myrold is unbeatable for us.
MS
Warning! You often read gushing reviews and you always take them with a pinch of salt, but this is the second year in a row that I have been to 4 Seasons Nevis, and I can honestly say that it really is difficult to imagine a better tennis holiday than this one. The Four Seasons resort on its own, even without the tennis, is probably one of the best around. The service, amenities, setting and restaurants are the best that I have ever encountered. And then you add the whole tennis dimension. The key here are the courts and the PBI Pros. I am, and have been for a few years, a committed PBI groupie and that is because I have yet to find anything that rivals them for consistency of teaching excellence, capacity to adapt to different levels and, most importantly, the ability to engage you in the fun of tennis. I ended up going with my mum and my 8 month old nephew (long and complicated explanation to those who want it!) and I wish I could say that my 8 month old nephew was coached to hit a Michael Chang cross court backhand by the PBI guys, but that is beyond even them! However, they did coach my mum and I who are at v different levels and want very different things out of our sessions. The genius of PBI and especially Chris Myrold (resort manager) and Kip Koross was that we both came away feeling that we had, of course, massively improved but that also the sessions we had were geared specifically to us and to maximise our own individual strengths. Both Chris and Kip are steeped in the PBI teaching methods which really work and they deliver them in an incredibly friendly, understandable and approachable way. They are entirely non-judgemental, totally un-patronising, really eager to help, generous with their time and great fun to be around. Also they are both enormously experienced, so they draw on all that experience to improve not just your (my) temperamental backhand, but also your match-play so you have the confidence and tactical knowledge to win matches – which in the end is what it is all about! The courts are very well maintained both clay and hard. The only negative I would say is that the pro shop is dedicated mostly to golf so the tennis section is slightly meagre. But that is easily rectifiable. In summary, if you are tennis players of any ability and you want the best combination of fabulous holiday and perfect tennis coaching, then I absolutely cannot recommend it highly enough.
We want to see your racquet sports vacations! When you’re documenting your trip, tag @TennisResortsOnline on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn and use #TROAdventures for a chance to be featured on our page.

Katie in Nevis is AMAZING. She is kind patient and her teaching style really resonated. Also gave great local reccomendations which I much appreciated.
Our children loved the coach, Leon and wanted to do more lessons than what we arranged despite it being super hot. Also my husband and I had some tennis sessions and they were excellent. I improved my tennis considerably and learnt a lot with a lot of fun!
It’s an amazing and outstanding tennis destination . We had such a great time playing in the mornings clinics . Kids were exited for their afternoon tennis class. Highly qualified coaches and outstanding facilities . My family and I had gorgeous time and will definitly go back for more tennis and fun .
We have thoroughly enjoyed our clinics and lessons with Kip Koross at the Four Seasons for the past 2 years in a row. The group clinics are active and filled with tips for strategy and tactics. The individual lessons are focused and superb.
My expectations were surpassed with the quality of coaching provided during our recent visit. The open drills run by Kip were fast paced, strategic and he readily adjusted to the varying skill levels of the players in attendance. I really felt great tips were provided on both strokes and doubles/singles strategy.
The tennis program is top notch with multiple options for adults and children.
Nevis was four star all the way. The clinics were fun and engaging and the instructors were amazing. I learned more during a week there than months of lessons at home.
I have enjoyed a different tennis experience everyday of my 8 night vacation. The group clinics are fun and I was able to hook up with others for a match. I also had some 1:1 coaching with Kip Koross who is a first class and effective instructor. The facilities are great and the resort caters for all age groups and players of all standards.
great facility, wonderful instruction.
I have been going to Nevis Four Season for many years. I go there because the tennis facilities are great as is the instruction. I have never had a bad lesson. All the pros are great.
Picked up a tennis racquet for first time in 28 years on this vacation. I ended up taking three lessons and playing five days in a row. I had a great time. My instructor, Kip, was patient, provided solid instruction, and made my lessons fun. Looking forward to coming back and seeing Kip again.
Kip Koross at FS Nevis is a wonderful teacher. As a beginning tennis player, Kip was strategic in providing 3 key elements designed to improve my forehand and backhand. An amazing and beautiful setting for instruction. FS Nevis is not to be missed.
four Seasons Nevis is fabulous, this was our 26th visit to the resort since it opened. Tennis is the best and chris Myrold the head pro is the best I have ever worked with. However I would like to see tennis packages offered by the resort
Great beach, food etc as well
Great tennis, great atmosphere, great pros, great facility. Returning Guest.
Had a great time in the junior clinics and taking semi-privates with my Mom… Chris and Kip were great instructors. Played tennis everyday!
A superb resort and tennis experience. My lessons with Chris, the head pro, were exceptional and highly productive. Don’t miss coming to Nevis!!!
Justin Work was a fantastic instructor. My son loved his lessons and looked forward to them every day.
When you go to Nevis, the tennis is amazing! You will never find a better instructor or courts in the world.
Fantastic tennis facilities. The pros, particularly Chris and Kip, were outstanding and my game noticeably improved after the week. We can’t wait to return to the FS Nevis!
I loved playing tennis at the Four Seasons Nevis more than I can express! I’m almost 13 and have been playing for years. Chris, Kip and Justin helped me so much, and my entire family had such fun playing together. I can’t wait to go back!
