When the Four Season Resort Nevis opened in 1991, it guaranteed that it would attract the attention of tennis players by building a racquet sports complex with eight hard, red clay, and artificial grass courts and later supplemented those with four pickleball courts, all wrapped around the central plaza of the Sports Pavilion. Although the tennis still has to compete with the beach—a battle it will almost always lose between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.—and it also share center stage with a Robert Trent Jones, III golf course laid out on the slopes of the 3,232-foot dormant volcano of Nevis Peak directly behind. Nevertheless, this has emerged as one of the foremost tennis destinations in the Caribbean.
A tiny volcanic island, roughly 8 miles in diameter, Nevis lies just across a shallow channel called The Narrows from its sister island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean’s Lesser Antilles. The name derives from the Spanish “Nuestra Señora de los Nieves,” which means “Our Lady of the Snows,” presumably for the white clouds that often shroud the top the Nevis Peak. In the 18th century, its sugarcane plantations generated so much wealth for its then British inhabitants that it came to be known as the “Queen of the Caribees.” Old sugarcane mills still dot the landscape, and several of plantation great-houses have been converted to inns. Elsewhere, Georgian stone buildings survive in the capital city of Charlestown and in several of the island’s numerous churches, including St. Paul’s Anglican Church, which dates to 1830.
Ultimately, though, what I remember most from my visits to Nevis are the warm, genuinely friendly people. And one place to meet them is on the tennis court. Peter Burwash International has managed this tennis facility since the resort opened. Almost since the beginning, the PBI pros here have sought to involve the hotel’s management and staff in tennis, and to encourage local participation, with the quite practical goal of having a diverse stable of players to draw on when guests come looking for matches.
Tennis Staff: PBI pro Eric Thorel directs the programming. Originally from France, Eric has run racquet programs with Peter Burwash International for over 30 years at some of the top clubs and resorts worldwide. In his formative years, Eric played competitively and attended a High-Performance Coaching & Management internship at the IMG Academy in Florida. He is also a certified USPTA Elite professional, PTR L2, USTA Sport Science and Youth Development. He inherits a well-run program of private lessons, adult clinics, game matching, and a weekly social mixer that brings together locals and guests. There's also a "Never Touched a Racquet" clinic which introduces new comers to the basic skills of hitting a tennis and/or pickleball. During school holidays, the resort offers "Red-Orange-Green" junior clinics, and Eric is now training the St Kitts & Nevis U12-14-16 national juniors.
The racquets facility is also open to the residents, and a ball-machine is available, so there's no shortage of hitting and playing opportunities, especially during the high season.
Court Complex: Laid out singly or in pairs, the two hard courts—one with bleachers—two artificial grass courts, four red-clay courts, and four pickleball courts wrap around the two-story golf-and-tennis clubhouse in an area of the resort known as the “Sports Pavilion,” which also encompasses the spa and fitness center. Weathered wooden pavilions at the edge of the courts provide shade, benches, and a supply of chilled water, tropical fruit juice, towels, and scented chilled towels. Five of the courts have lights. In addition, the resort has four pickleball courts to take advantage of the growing interest in that racquet sport.
Off Court
Beach: Pinney’s Beach stretches for four miles along this western coast of Nevis. The section that borders the Four Seasons has a berm seeded with low grasses and plants to protect the resort from the sea. Four supremely comfortable beach houses, each with a flat-screen TV, room service, and lounge chairs, stand atop the berm and can be rented for the day. Behind them and to the east is an infinity pool and wading pool for families, the open-air Caribbean-American On The Dune, and the watersports center, which has Hobie cats, kayaks, seaboards, paddleboats, snorkel gear, stand-up paddleboards and more—non-motorized equipment is complimentary. There is another, quieter pool for adults only at the southern end of the property.
Golf Courses: Designed by Robert Trent Jones, III., this 18-hole course climbs up and down the lower slopes of the 3,232-foot dormant volcano of Nevis Peak. The 15th is among the most spectacular, requiring a 240-yard carry across a ravine to reach the fairway while green vervet monkeys provide commentary from the adjacent trees, though for stunning views, the 9th hole stands out, a fairway that spills down the mountain slope toward the Caribbean and St. Kitts beyond.
Spa & Fitness Center: For tennis players, the Sports Pavilioncould scarcely have a better location, just off the plaza that borders the courts. The Fitness Center contains an array cardio machines, each with its own TV screen, arrayed along a wall with windows on the tropical foliage and Nevis Peak outside. Behind those machines is a row of LifeFitness stations, supplemented by dumbbells and freeweights. The Spa has a dozen treatment rooms, six of them in tiny cottages with cedar-shake roofs, yellow clapboard siding, and white gingerbread trim. They flow through a courtyard filled with tropical gardens. Guests can use the time before or after treatments to relax in an air-conditioned lounge or sit outside on a covered patio paved with stones or around a plunge pool with views of Nevis Peak or around a second pool with a waterfall. Treatments range from a variety of traditional massages to body wraps, skin-care services, manicures, and pedicures. Room service delivers spa cuisine.
The resort also offers scuba diving lessons and boat dives, catamaran snorkel tours, deep-sea fishing excursions, guided kayak tours, and a Laser sailing school.
Children's programs: The “Kids for All Seasons” program accepts children ages 3 to 9 for a full-day of supervised recreation, creative and educational activities highlighted by a sea turtle education program that focuses on Nevis’s endangered sea turtles. For others, there is an air-conditioned games room with Foosbal, a pool table, various board and video games.
Dining: The signature restaurant is the new EsQuilina, which offers breakfast buffet in the morning and a vibrant Mediterranean-inspired menu in the evening. My favorite, however, is Mango in a former plantation beach club at the northern end of the property. Steps from the water and open to the breeze, it specializes in West Indian-inspired fare like crab and mango salad, Mango’s famous glazed ribs, locally caught whole fried snapper or a Caribbean roti, washed down with, say, a Mangojito made with the local Brinley mango rum. In addition, there is the On the Dune restaurant and bar near the beach and pool for light fare during the day and Kastawey, a beach bar located at the southern end of the property, serves up creative rum cocktails and light bites featuring locally sourced ingredients from land and sea.
As an alternative, you can catch a cab to dine at Montpelier Plantation or the Golden Rock Inn, or stroll up the beach to celebrity favorite Sunshine’s (don’t miss their Killer Bees, a rum drink), Chevy’s, or the Double Deuce.
Accommodations
The resort comprise both rooms and suites and luxury villas. The rooms and suites can be found in two-story, shingle-roofed clusters faced in weathered wood and white stucco with latticework trim. In general, they follow the curve of Pinney’s Beach behind an expanse of lawn, gardens, and the occasional palm tree. These are spacious, light-drenched accommodations have been decorated in chic Caribbean style. First floor rooms open out onto patios and thus have direct access to the beach; second-floor rooms afford more privacy and have balconies. All are equipped with a variety of creature comforts, including flat-screen televisions, coffee makers, complimentary WiFi, and oversize marble baths with soaking tubs and separate walk-in showers. And in a boon to tennis players, each cluster of rooms has a free guest laundry (there’s even a package of detergent)—something you rarely find at an upscale resort but one that also partly explains why Four Seasons Nevis is popular with families. The luxury villas range from one to seven bedrooms and feature large living areas, fully equipped kitchens, and expansive balconies and terraces along with private pools or plunge pools.
Getting there
Travel Instructions: The nearest airport is Vance W. Amory International Airport (NEV) at the north end of Nevis, which has service from Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands. The alternative is Robert Llewllyn Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) on the nearby island of St. Kitts, which has direct flights from Miami, Charlotte, Atlanta, New York, Newark, Toronto and London. The Four Seasons staff provide transport from the airport by private taxi and boat directly to the resort pier.
We chose to visit this resort specifically because of its tennis offerings, and I am so glad that we did. Best tennis instruction we’ve ever experienced on a vacation, bar none (and we’ve seen a lot). My son (15 years old) and I played five days in a row with David Wilson, head pro. David immediately honed in on my son’s instructional needs and, by the end of the week, the kid was really beating up his poor dad. Amazing game improvement in a single week. The Ultimate Tennis Package (5 lessons and unlimited use of courts and ball machine) felt like a great deal. Loved experiencing the court variety (hard, clay, and turf). And the setting, nestled at the foot of Nevis Peak was simply stunning. Just wow. While it was obvious that programs and offerings were still (understandably) limited due to COVID, we still had a spectacular time. I suspect we will have an even better time (if that is even possible!) on our next trip. (Oh, and the rest of the resort experience was everything you would expect from a Four Seasons: perfect in every way.)

The tennis facilities in Nevis are second-to-none…clay, hard courts, and set in one of the most beautiful places on earth. But it’s David Wilson – the amazing PBI pro – who is the star of the show. My wife and I played with him several hours each day for two weeks – he’s talented, patient, offers great tips and techniques, funny, and a pleasure in every way. He works hard to make sure your tennis experience is perfect and just what you want/need. If you love tennis, find a way to Nevis and work with David – your game will improve and you’ll leave with a new friend too.
VA
A fantastic tennis experience. 3 different court surfaces – clay, artificial grass, and hardcourt – a rarity in upscale resorts. Great setting, well landscaped. Excellent coaching by Dennis Director, Dave Wilson and Head Pro, Angel. With a name like that you know you’re in good hands! Positive, energetic and – a great trait for the profession – funny. At the same time they’re excellent ball strikers with a variety of challenging drills & skills. Should you just want to rally to relax, get a workout, or just play some games, no problem. Definitely will be back.
KK
Outstanding tennis pro, helped my game immensely in a short period of time, very personable. Even the most demanding drills were fun. Kept coming back for more.
AS
Amazing resort with the best tennis programs. There are 9 tennis courts on three different surfaces ( hard court, astro turf and clay). The tennis program offers daily clinics with different themes, social mixers and matching. Me, my husband and our three kids took a bunch of tennis lessons with Dave and Angel. They are great instructors and make the class fun with a lot of fitness. We learned and improved our game so much in just one week! The Pro Shop team was great and helpful as well. We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
BL
An awesome place to play tennis on a variety of services in the Caribbean with a great coach to, Dave Wilson. Particularly liked the drills and as mentioned the opportunity to put it into practice on multiple surfaces. Ball machine also available to spend some solitary time on hitting as well. Good ambiance, easy bookings and access to the coach. You travel a long way to get there, would be the main weakness, but it is worth the trip. Key tip, insect repellent if playing at dusk or night time.
JJ
This is an absolute a must the staff at the resort are so attentive to everything the detail was just incredible! Was able to play tennis with one of the greatest pros there is on this world, just first class experience and then after a long day on the tennis courts head to the Spa and I am sure you’ll not be disappointed it is simply a must! The therapists are amazing! They take care of all your needs and are very professional.
GK
Awesome, friendly, upbeat staff provided energy and enthusiasm for my week at the Four Seasons. While my husband was here for a meeting, I was able to experience the tennis with guests and locals alike! And we got to play together for a round of social tennis as well! Angel’s positivity was infectious and helped me to up my game just by his constant words of encouragement! Both he and David were able to rapidly assess each individual’s skills so that the social tennis teams were matched evenly. I got to play on all of the 3 different court surfaces- all beautifully maintained. Thank you, David and Angel for a super week of tennis in Nevis we will always remember!
CN
The resort is a beautiful luxury property on beautiful Nevis. The interiors were only recently refreshed so the property felt quite shiny. The tennis program, built around hard and clay courts, is fantastic. The tennis staff is friendly but provided helpful tips for improving your game. And the other players were friendly and generally joyful to have around.
TS
Dave Wilson and Angle went above and beyond providing us and others players with outstanding personalized tennis experience that sure went above and beyond our expectations. An amazing tennis facility featuring all playing surfaces. Hard courts, Clay courts and Turf courts that were always groomed and ready to be played. Fun daily tennis clinics, drills, tips from the pros and so much more. Angle our tennis pro did an amazing job keeping drills fun and challenging especially for all the different levels of players. Needless to say by the end of our sessions we were very ready for breakfast. A huge thank you to David and Angle for making our vacations so special. Nothing like great tennis while away in at a tropical island as special as Nevis. Thank you again! Tom & Denna
RC
The PBI tennis program at this facility and all the PBI coaches exceeded my expectations both with their coaches and as people. Very charismatic, energetic bunch! The red clay courts are beautiful. Highly recommend!
KW
The tennis program was very good. WE had two private lessons with David Wilson. He was terrific. He provided excellent instruction and fun drills. WE attended two clinics with Angel. They were okay, but there were five people on the court which is too many. Also, the drills were a bit boring (volley to volley, and count how many times, etc). The pro shop was indeed exceptional. Very attentive! We were there Jan. 2020
CS
We had a great time with Dave Wilson… he taught a great semi–private lesson for me and my partner… and we went back again.
BD
Tennis pro Dave changed my game after 2 lessons and I have never played better he is a genius.
EC
By far the best tennis vacation our family has ever been on. Dave Wilson the tennis director and his team of pros over the holiday period were outstanding. The energy levels from all the pros was off the charts. Each and every pro made our time on Nevis special in their own way. I took lessons from Dave and he raised the level of my game considerably in the short time we spent together. My Kids took the morning clinics with Katie and they couldn’t wait each day for their morning Katie Fix. Whilst my husband played with both Chris and Angel. If you’re looking for a dream tennis destination, Don’t look any further than Nevis. Thank you Dave for everything you’ve done to make our trip so special . We will be back soon.
MG
We came over the Christmas holiday time frame because of the tennis and dave and his team did not disappoint. The only reason we selected this resort is because of the unique experience of having a tennis program on three court surfaces on an island. Dave was professional and prompt with his communication setting up our tennis during this busy time and we enjoyed drills for both myself and my wife and our kids loved playing with Katie. I highly recommend this resort because of the tennis experience.
CK
Amazing, best place ever
LK
Amazing weather Instruction from the pros was great. My pro, Chris, gave great instruction, and he improved my game a lot!
TS
Just came back from a wonderful week at the Four Seasons Nevis. When I found out about the full tennis facilities, I had to take advantage of it. Since I’m a 4.0 player and seem to always be working on my game, I decided to take three lessons from Dave Wilson. And I’m very happy I did. He’s one of the best instructors I’ve had in my life. Lessons were high energy and fun, and, most importantly, got results. He was able to identify my issues very quickly and showed me how to correct them in very simple and understandable steps. My lessons were so good that I persuaded my wife, who has zero tennis playing experience to take a lesson. And Dave did he magic again. In one hour, my wife not only was able to hit a few forehands and backhands over the net consistently, but a couple of the shots would’ve been winners at the 3.0/3.5 levels. My wife told me afterwards that she really enjoyed the lesson and the way Dave made it instructional but fun at the same time. And probably more importantly, she wants to play again. I also did a Live Ball clinic (they have daily clinics), and it too was a lot of fun with good competition when I was there. So big thumbs up for Dave and the Four Seasons at Nevis! My wife and I will be back.
BM
The head pro David Wilson, was able to put together exactly what I was looking for in my vacation tennis experience – private lessons and clinics which left me sweating and tired which was what I was looking for in my experience. The three court surfaces gave a nice variety and the Spa after tennis was absolutely perfect for post training sessions. They did a great job in arranging hits and matches with other guests as well.
SM
Having just spent a week here with my family, it goes without saying that playing tennis with the pro Dave Wilson was definitely the highlights for all of us. We are already looking at returning early in 2020 for more tennis.
MW
My husband and I play at different levels and Dave Wilson was able to raise the levels of both of our games simultaneously, while keeping both of us engaged, challenged, but not overwhelmed. In an arranged doubles game, he was able to do the same, recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of all players and making sure they were well matched/helped by partners and his assistance. It was always fun, and my game (which was limited when I started) seriously improved. The Tennis alone is worth the trip to Four Seasons.
MB
Very nice tennis facility and even better tennis pro! David Wilson is amazing!! I was in tennis heaven while I was there. David helped me with my serve and now I call my serve “the Dave”. He was so personable. We not did lessons and a clinic, we played doubles together with another couple. So fun! I felt like I had known Dave for a long time. I hope I have the chance to work with him again in the future.
JB
David Wilson was a wonderful pro. His ability to teach and make tennis fun and overall experience were all outstanding. He is a great asset to your company.
JD
David Wilson, the head Tennis Pro, is excellent. My family and I (including 2 kids age 10 and 13) have played tennis with David for many years at The Four Seasons, Nevis, and he is top notch. He is professional, fun, and we always learn something new. The lessons and clinics are enjoyable and rewarding. We look forward to tennis with David as a highlight of our stay in Nevis and recommend him highly as a top level coach for all levels of players and all ages.

Tennis is a game I never thought I’d play, especially on a beautiful Caribbean Island surrounded by sun, sea & sand. However, I had the amazing Caribbean experience of staying at the Four Seasons, Nevis. Where I found out that their tennis program is #1 in the Caribbean. Beautiful beach days are not guaranteed. On one overcast day I decided to visit the tennis centre to see if could take a lesson. Yes, yes, yes! Was the response from the exuberant, wonderful and energetic staff. They assured me that a total newbie could learn to play tennis and have fun. I had the good fortune of taking my 2 private lessons with David Wilson, the Tennis Director. During my lessons Dave was very patient, encouraging, humourous and demonstrated the knowledge necessary for teaching a newbie. Afterall, I needed to learn everything. By the end of my private lessons Dave had me holding a raquet properly, serving and being able to return a ball two over the net. Dave did much more running than me! My vacation at the Four Seasons Nevis was amazing. Nevis is wonderful and I really learned and saw a lot on the islands and plantation tour. Sometimes after the tennis I’d walk down the beach to SUNSHINE’S for a taste of their legendary “Killer Bee”. I’m looking forward to playing more tennis back at home. The experience was so much fun. Thanks , Team Nevis
DD
Lana Macukat is an excellent tennis pro. My family (adults and kids) all enjoyed lessons and clinics with Lana and learned something new every time. They were challenged and also had fun. She is professional, hardworking, and an excellent tennis pro. We highly recommend her to tennis players of all ages for an excellent court experience.

I recently bought a villa at the Four Seasons Nevis in large part because of the excellent tennis program run by Dave Wilson, after having visited several times as a hotel guest. The facility has the advantage of nine courts on three different surfaces (hard, clay, artificial turf), which provides aging knees and hips a respite from playing only on hard courts. The turf courts drain quickly after intermittent but often powerful rain. There is also a ball machine available. Dave runs clinics and round-robins that are fun and inclusive of all levels. His lessons are also fun, while being purposeful, varied and instructive. Dave’s Aussie good humor keeps everyone charmed! This past season brought Lana Macukat as an awesome addition to Dave’s pro team. Lana played Division 1 collegiate tennis in the very competitive Western Athletic Conference, where she was all-Conference in doubles. She is of Serbian-Croatian descent and grew up and learned tennis in Germany, speaking four languages. Her lessons always are well-organized with a focus and clear plan. She is also fun and interesting. And she has a much more fashionable tennis wardrobe than Dave. We’ve been to several other Caribbean tennis resorts and concluded that Four Seasons Nevis was our favorite.
SS
I recently spent four months at the Four Seasons Nevis, where I participated in the tennis program. Dave Wilson, the Director of Tennis, runs an excellent program that accommodates players of all levels and makes it fun, active and informative. I have been to this resort previously and chose to return because of the high quality of the tennis program. This year I spent a significant amount of time taking lessons and attending clinics run by Lana Macukat. She is a great addition to the Four Seasons tennis program. Lana is well organized and very clear in her instruction, always with a lesson plan. She challenges your to reach a higher level and keeps you working. The clinics are fun and active and she good at integrating players of different levels. Lana is fun and a real pleasure to be around! I hope she will be part of the Four Seasons Nevis tennis program for many years to come.
BS
I have been to Nevis twice in the past couple months, staying an additional week my first trip allowing me to train more with Lana one of the exceptional tennis pros that was at the resort. Her calm and attentive demeanor, and ability to give clear and important instruction on how to improve my tennis really made for a great experience that will last a lifetime. It was an absolute joy and pleasure playing with her we had lots of laughter as well. The clinics were well thought out and were adjusted based off of players skill/ability. I highly recommend clinics and private lessons. Dave the tennis director at FS Nevis is also a great resource on improving your tennis game, and the Pro Shop staff were a pleasure to meet and speak to, they were also very helpful and accommodating. If you have the chance to go to Nevis I highly recommend checking out the tennis.
CT
Excellent resort. Very pleasant staff everywhere. Listens to feedback. Beautiful surroundings and the next stage of renovations will be exciting to see!!
PK
Our family had a fantastic tennis vacation at the Four Seasons Nevis this March. Dave Wilson, Director of Tennis for the resort, made sure that every member of our family had the tennis experience they wanted – from my husband who wanted to play as much as possible, to my son who hadn’t played much lately and wanted to get back into the game, to my daughter who wanted a less intense but still fun tennis experience, to myself who enjoys being on the court for short periods. Dave arranged a doubles game for my son and husband and let my daughter set her own pace. We all had a great time.
EJ
The tennis staff at the Four Seasons Nevis was amazing. I had daily lessons with David Wilson during my one week stay and he was excellent — a great instructor and hitting partner; Dave was full of helpful practical tips that dramatically improved my serve over the course of the week. Definitely one of the best luxury resort tennis facilities we’ve stayed at in the Carribean. Will definitely be back!
VM
I had a brilliant two weeks playing tennis. Attending clinics that are held daily at 10a.m with both Lana and Dave- the Tennis Director. Both are such good and upbeat, friendly, lovely coaches- and of course professional in every way. The Nevis courts are a good mix of clay, astro and hard – with a Tuesday evening open session to meet locals and play for free. Absolutely one hundred per cent recommend you join in the clinics- and meet club residents and also locals so you can play doubles and singles outside of the clinics. It really made my holiday!! So big thanks to both Lana and Dave.
MP
My wife and I just spent a week playing tennis at the Four Seasons Nevis, The facilities are superior, offering clay, hard court and artificial turf. We had Lana as our instructor for both clinics at 10 AM and semi-private lessons. She offered the right level of instruction and was super enjoyable to spend time with on the court. A great attitude goes a long way! It’s hard to find detailed information on tennis program on the Four Seasons web site. This should be addressed, as tennis should be an important part of their marketing…it’s the reason we chose this location to spend our holiday.
ST
Tennis at the Nevis resort is outstanding.I participated in individual instruction and group drills. Staff were excellent pros from Australia, Germany, Spain, and Poland skillful with genial personalities. The complex had three types of courts: clay, hard, and astroturf . Under sunny, blue skies cooled by ocean breezes I was able to work on my tennis skills, cardio exercise and a tan.The tennis skills included ground strokes: top spin, flat, and slice; volleys: forehand and backhand: direction and distance control; overheads; serves: hard, spin and kick; and return of all types of serves. Kudos to David Wilson, Lana, and Eva. What a place to work on your game in a beautiful setting! My wife and I had no reservations about our 10 day visit.
HR
My son and I played tennis there while on vacation. The pros are very friendly- especially the head pro, Dave. He gave my son private lessons which my son really enjoyed. The setting is beautiful, and we had a great trip! My only complaint about the resort is that it doesn’t have the Tennis Channel!
EN
We played tennis nearly every day of our vacation, including private lessons and clinics. They were a blast. As you would expect at a Four Seasons, the courts (clay, hard, and Astro turf) were well maintained and the equipment rentals were high quality. The instructors and staff were really what distinguished the tennis experience for us though. Instruction was high quality and they made lessons really fun. Both of us came away with vast improvements in a variety of strokes. Dave, Lana, and Eva were all fantastic instructors. Thank you. We are already looking forward to our next trip.
DJ
Recently spent a week with the Pros at Four Seasons Nevis. The courts were very well kept and most importantly Dave Wilson the head pro was terrific. I’m a 4.5 player who has played at many resorts around the world and found this to be the best experience I’ve had. I also witnessed strong participation at different levels of tennis and everyone was having a good experience.
LS
This was our second year in a row to Four Seasons Nevis. It is simply THE BEST! What makes it a dream experience is the tennis pro, David Wilson. Part of the Peter Burwash team, he is a terrific pro, but what makes him so special is how nice he is and what a great disposition he has. He makes every guest feel special, and he understands how to make every minute on the court fun as well as helpful. His drills are excellent, his skills are wonderful, and his tips will make you feel you just might be able to join the pro circuit!
PW
Superb couple of days with the Nevis pro — Dave the Aussie — in a setting that could not have been more beautiful, or well-kept, or relaxing. My wife and I do not play together well, because I’ve been playing (incorrectly, with tennis elbow) since I was 16 and she started last year, just swatting madly at whatever came her way. I mean, both of us have swings, volleys, and serves that should be illustrated for future generations on what not to do. Truly, we are terrible. But three days with Dave made each little gentle game-switch more than fun. The adjustments were worth every minute spent. He’s an enviably good tutor, able to talk to pretty much every type of player, from child to cranky old eccentric (I saw both), and guide them to a new level of respect for good play. It’s slow going, like any lesson, and then it starts to click into place. We couldn’t speak more highly of Dave, or the courts, or the setting of the Four Seasons, its impeccably patient staff. I mean, we could, but we’re not that sort of people. Good on ya, Wilson.
DM
I can’t say enough on how wonderful PBI is at The Four Seasons Resort Nevis. Dave Wilson, is an outstanding pro, one of the best I have had. I have had the best clinics and lessons with him than in the states. He is attentive to detail to improve your game. while making it a fun experience. I would highly recommend this resort if you love to play tennis. Also I would also like to recommend Steve Haverson at the Park Hyatt, Carlsbad California and Kevin at the Westin, Oancho Mirage, Ca. PBI has the best instructors.
IG
Remarkable Tennis Resort – fabulous conditions, many courts, all surfaces available, amazing coach, had private lesson and also played in ‘mixer’ and group lessons – all tremendously professional – thoroughly recommend !
KL
We stayed at the Four Seasons Nevis for Thanksgiving 2018 and had an absolute blast! My son and I played tennis 4 days straight at the Adult clinics and also took a private lesson. The pro there, Dave Wilson was wonderful. He helped us with improving our technique and overall game. He was patient and very kind. He handled the various levels of all the tennis players extremely well and everyone felt it was very fun and worthwhile. Thanks Dave for your expertise and the fun! We thoroughly enjoyed being on your court.
MP
Took a lesson with Dave Wilson at this resort and it was an excellent experience. I’m a 4.0 player working my way to 4.5 and Dave gave me great insight into my game. In 1.5 hours we made a big change in my game that I believe will pay big long term. Best coaching experience I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend Dave if your looking to improve your game or if you just want to hit with a high level player.
PT
This has to be one of the best tennis resorts anywhere! Played often during a two-week stay, sometimes with the pro David Wilson, who combines his lessons with fun and really helpful tips for your game. Also enjoyed the weekly social mixer, which was a great opportunity to play some good doubles! Cold drinks and towels were always provided, much needed! And after tennis plenty of options to go to for dinner and a few cold beers! This is a lovely resort – must also mention the fantastic 18 hole golf course – and for tennis fans you will not regret coming to this small and friendly island – well done Dave and the team!
OK
I played with David Wilson, the tennis pro at Four Seasons Nevis on three occasions during my stay at the Four Seasons in August 2018. David is a great tennis instructor. His drills are very interesting and challenging. He really helped me improve in particular my forehand and backhand thanks to great practical advices. He is also very fun to play with, which is the perfect balance. I slightly injured my ankle during one session and he was great at providing the right assistance. He is really one of the very best pros I have played with and I have been playing with pros in a large number of resorts in the Carribean and Indian Ocean. The Four Seasons tennis courts are also very scenic and it is great to be able to play on various surfaces. It is probably the tennis installation I have seen. Congratulations and hope to play again with David in the future.

We just finished a wonderful week at the Four Seasons Nevis. The property is stunning and the service is impeccable. The tennis facilities and instruction were equally outstanding. During our stay, I had the opportunity to get out on the tennis court for four clinics and a doubles mixer, all led by tennis pro Dave Wilson. Dave is a skilled, friendly and insightful instructor. At the first clinic, I was the only guest registered and enjoyed a private lesson. In just a few minutes of warm-up, Dave identified an issue with my forehand that was contributing to my tennis elbow. After a quick correction to my form, I was hitting my forehand with greater control and far less impact on my elbow. My experience with the other clinics was much the same. I received great instruction and ample tips to improve my game. I thoroughly enjoyed all the lessons, and I am deeply grateful for Dave’s expertise. Plus, his easy-going manner makes Dave great company on the court! If you’re looking for a great vacation with fantastic tennis, I highly recommend the Four Seasons Nevis and tennis pro, Dave Wilson!

Our family of 4 just finished an 8-day stay at FourSeasons Nevis, and we chose this based on it’s renown in the list of “Top Tennis Resorts”. Our youngest family member is a small college tennis scholarship player, and wife, I, and daughter are casual recreational players. We love tennis and loved the facilities, the clay courts, hard surface and even the artificial turf surfaces were very fun to experience. The tennis mixer was especially fun for competetive play, and the instruction from the tennis pro, Dave Wilson, was exceptional. We participated in group lessons, which covered various aspects of tennis in separate sessions. My son had a great time as well, as Dave was able to hit with him at a good pace, and gave him some nice coaching appropriate for my son’s advanced level. Great fun, highly recommended. We look forward to our next visit to Four Seasons Nevis. Beautiful scenery, no crowds of people, great food, great family 2Br Villa.

Four Seasons Nevis was great and the tennis with Dave Wilson (the pro) was a significant factor. Everyone at the resort was genuinely friendly and helpful. Dave Wilson went out of his way to craft a special sequence of small group lessons for us and our friends. Dave did well juggling the different tennis playing levels in our little group, making it fun for everyone. The mix of courts (hard, clay, artificial grass) allowed us to play even when it was misty one day. The excellent tennis facility fit right in with everything else at Four Seasons Nevis – all top notch.

Outstanding tennis pro, helped my game immensely in a short period of time, very personable. Even the most demanding drills were fun. Kept coming back for more.
Tom & Denna
The PBI tennis program at this facility and all the PBI coaches exceeded my expectations both with their coaches and as people. Very charismatic, energetic bunch! The red clay courts are beautiful. Highly recommend!
We had a great time with Dave Wilson… he taught a great semi–private lesson for me and my partner… and we went back again.
Tennis pro Dave changed my game after 2 lessons and I have never played better he is a genius.
Amazing, best place ever
Amazing weather Instruction from the pros was great. My pro, Chris, gave great instruction, and he improved my game a lot!
Having just spent a week here with my family, it goes without saying that playing tennis with the pro Dave Wilson was definitely the highlights for all of us. We are already looking at returning early in 2020 for more tennis.
David Wilson was a wonderful pro. His ability to teach and make tennis fun and overall experience were all outstanding. He is a great asset to your company.
Excellent resort. Very pleasant staff everywhere. Listens to feedback. Beautiful surroundings and the next stage of renovations will be exciting to see!!
My son and I played tennis there while on vacation. The pros are very friendly- especially the head pro, Dave. He gave my son private lessons which my son really enjoyed. The setting is beautiful, and we had a great trip! My only complaint about the resort is that it doesn’t have the Tennis Channel!
Remarkable Tennis Resort – fabulous conditions, many courts, all surfaces available, amazing coach, had private lesson and also played in ‘mixer’ and group lessons – all tremendously professional – thoroughly recommend !
