The pro Linda Thomson was great!!! We were a group of 4 that traveled from out of state. We had 2 wonderful days of clinic w/Linda. She was very personable, fun, knowledgeable, patient, clinic was fresh & informative. We all enjoyed what we learned & would definitely return! The courts & facility were very nice!
My tennis team visited Innisbrook for a weekend of intensive tennis instruction and development. Let by Judi Alford, the clinics were very informative, educational, and fun for our group. We all learned so much and plan to return regularly. Judi makes the strategy and positioning very easy to learn and execute. Plus, her vivacious personality and great sense of humor keep it fun and engaging. I would highly recommend!
As Roger mentioned, although Innisbrook is primarily known for Golf, it should be better known for Tennis. In addition to the past and current tournaments that allow near courtside seating (instead of the nose bleed seat availability at bigger tournaments), the instruction level is above that of competitor resorts of similar type. The Australian Tennis Institute had camps that were run out of here for many years with former Davis Cup players on court and giving a level of instruction that is pretty hard to find anywhere. The current staff strives to maintain that same high standard. I took a private lesson on my last visit with Sean Kepinski this trip and although I hadn’t brought it up, he viewed some problems with my serve and offered a quick diagnosis/correction that works well. Next time I am in the neighborhood, I am just going to hit in a drill first and ask the experts what I should be working on.
The tennis staff is exceptionally talented and tailor lessons to individual development. No cookie-cutter here! My game has improved significantly since lessons with Joe Mattingly, and our weekly lessons have been a highlight for me and my husband. This is a very special place, a club where you can play as competitively or as socially as you like. The environment is beautiful and the facilities are top-notch. The events that bring high-level tournaments and pro players to the area are greatly appreciated by the strong tennis community of the Tampa Bay area.
The staff was exceptional arranging our (me/wife) clinic/lessons around rainy Florida weather. Judy was superb at evaluating our mixed doubles skill, talking with us about what we hoped to work on and tailoring instruction to improve our game. I will definitely be back for another tennis getaway weekend.
We had a wonderful time attending a tennis camp at this resort and would recommend to anyone that is looking for a fun get away at a beautiful resort. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the resort itself was serene and peaceful.
The team of tennis professionals is exceptional. Joe, Judy, Sean, and Linda are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Some of the best pros in the country!
The Innisbrook Tennis resort has turned into one of the best tennis resorts in the Tampa Bay Area under the leadership of the Director Joe Mattingly. The tennis staff he has assembled is very talented and skilled. The front desk staff is very courteous and attentive. All rooms in the resort have undergone extensive renovations and include living rooms and kitchens. The restaurants are solid as well.
A fantastic resort for tennis and golf. Plus fantastic pools and food. Come down here quite a bit.

Phenomenal getaway – paradise. Tennis Center just amazing.
The tennis staff is exceptional! The clay courts are always in good condition, beautiful setting and well equipped Pro Shop. There are plenty of round robins, clinics, private lessons and social events. Very friendly atmosphere and always a fun time.
Outstanding teaching staff at Innisbrook Resort! The pros are highly skilled and offer effective clinics, especially for doubles technique and strategy. Very easy to join scheduled play times at any level. The resort property is gorgeous and you will feel like you are on an oasis away from the busy world. Plenty of golf courses to experience as well, including the PGA Valspar course.
A paradise in the midst of chaos. Just a wonderful place to be.
The tennis facilities are wonderful and beautifully maintained. The staff is very friendly. I took private lessons with the Director of Tennis, Joe Mattingly. Joe is an exceptional instructor. I came in as a 3.5 player, but Joe helped improve every facet of my game. Few instructors are as observant and analytical, but make the learning/playing so fun. Fortunately, I was able to put to work many of his suggestions, and I saw immediate improvement in my game. Joe has a great personality, and his concern for his students is palpable. Also, the pricing of tennis instruction and other services is very reasonable given the quality of the Innisbrook Resort. Unfortunately, I arrived during the coronavirus crisis, so I wasn’t able to fully enjoy many of the excellent amenities and services at the Resort. I look forward to returning when life gets back to normal.
What especially appeals to me about Innisbrook Resort is that I feel like I am getting away the moment that I enter the property. There are many opportunities on the property; however, I mostly simply play tennis. That includes clinics, events, and charity tournaments and all around good people. Innisbrook is an incredible vacation each time I enter the property, even though I live only 15 minutes away.
This was an awesome resort and would highly recommend it for anyone.
A good resort, for tennis and golf. 11 courts at the tennis facilty, all well maintained. Great options for lessons and clinics. Accommodation was spacious, well furnished, with a private kitchen. All four golf courses are great, especially the Copperhead.
The tennis staff is just amazing and will address and develop any experience your group asks for.
Well maintained and relaxing resort. Easy to get around with several very good restaurant options. Excellent tennis facilities with plenty of court availability all day long.
Innisbrook, which is primarily viewed as a golf resort, is the finest tennis facility my wife and I have ever enjoyed, in the United States, Europe, or South America. The playing environment, the courts themselves and the staff are second to none. They are the primary reason we decided to purchase a vacation home (condominium) at Innisbrook. We are confident our tennis friends will come to feel the same way we do when they come to visit Innisbrook. It is a tennis paradise.
I just got back from a weeks stay a the Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor FL. Though this is primarily a golf resort they do have 11 pristine har-tru tennis courts, some lighted and open till 9 at night. The rooms we stayed in were newly remodeled and the room service was much better then in other resorts. (We had a kitchen in our suite and the maid cleaned our dirty dishes from the sink in addition to the room every day!)
The tennis programs were a little disappointing. They have a few clinics, and at night a few semi organized play groups. The match making is not so great. Will D. Rhame, the director of tennis, is a really nice guy and he goes out of his way to set something up for you. But when we went there this Christmas there didn’t seem to be many other tennis players there so I don’t think there was much to work with. I went to the Desert Springs, Marriott last year and Innisbrook does not compare in terms of tennis (but the rooms and service at Innisbrook are actually better).
Overall, this is a clean, beautiful resort, but there were not that many people to play tennis with when I was there.
