The tennis instruction at Topnotch is superb. I get excellent instruction and hit lots of balls. I’m so impressed that the pros can work with all levels on one court and still make it fun & competitive. I always get a great workout ,and pick up a tip that helps me with my game. The academy and stroke of the day are always a great start to my day! Simba has a great cardio tennis class composed of running, groundstrokes, volleys & playing out points.

An outstanding and always consistently outstanding tennis experience! I have been playing at Topnotch for 25 years and just when I say this was the best tennis day ever, tomorrow gets even better. Great pros!!!!!! Great program!!!! Always!

Since visiting Topnotch Resort for the first time 2 years ago I have been back several times. The resort is great for families year round but it’s the tennis that brings me back. I travel regularly for leisure and will always try to incorporate tennis into the trip. I find most often tennis programs are seasonal and limited however Milan and his team at Topnotch always have something running and their one on one coaching is fantastic. I’d highly recommend Topnotch tennis for any level tennis player any time of year.

I told my wife I wanted to attend a tennis camp for my 60th birthday and feel extremely fortunate that she picked Topnotch Tennis. Milan, the director, developed a 6 day program just for me. I had two, hour and a half sessions every day. The thrust of the program stressed how you start each stroke and how you finish each stroke. If those two pieces are done correctly the middle of the stroke will take care of itself. Milan’s philosophy is that you will create small variations that will fit your swing but the general stroke preparation and stroke finish must be there if your game is to improve. I came to the program with a more than solid backhand and a fickle at best forehand and left with the best forehand and backhand that I’ve ever had. Also I came it with a very strong serve and he tweaked one small thing that improved my first serve percentage from 60% to better than 80%.

Milan,Simba and Shaun were great coaches to have for our 3 day weekend of tennis. They kept it simple, fast and positive and after playing for so many years, I still learned something that will improve my game.

I would strongly recommend Topnotch Resort to anyone interested in a tennis-oriented vacation spot. The setting is lovely and a short drive to the town of Stowe. The tennis program is fun and rigorous, with great morning clinics, private instruction, and beautiful courts, Special shout-out to Tennis Director Milan and head pro Sean—they are outstanding.

Always a pleasant experience. Great courts and teaching staff. Beautiful location in Stowe. However, it was on the pricier side as sleeping and dining accommodations were not part of the tennis package when I went there. Stayed at the Green Mountain Inn so there was always that extra driving to do to make it back totennis camp. All meals were eaten independent of the tennis program. I find that Total Tennis has offered me the greatest bang for the buck.

I am a 4.0 player and worked a few times with Milan at Topnotch both times indoors. He is the real deal. His insights in the game are brilliant. He makes just a few adjustments to my game with big dividends. I enjoy working with him so much I am making him my only coach, even though I live 300 miles away. Aside from tennis, Topnotch is fantastic. The place is excellent to relax and unwind, and the staff is all first rate. My only gripe is the long drive from NYC. However, this will not deter me from being there regularly and maybe one day buying a second home in Stowe.

All strengths. Excellent instruction from truly dedicated professionals. I have attended Topnotch tennis camps for forty years and the quality of instruction has always been top-notch. The courts are very well maintained and there are four indoor courts to use in the event of rain. I have recommended their tennis program to many friends.

great value for this 2 day tennis academy with 6 hours of instruction. 4:1 ratio taught by highly skilled and enthusiastic tennis pros. Individual critiquing of skills and tips to improve followed by tennis drills. The pros then incorporated the stroke into a simulated “live” play on the court. Very enjoyable! I learned new skills and will definitely return next year!

We did a Sat-Sun morning tennis academy with Shaun and Milan in September. Each day was 3 hours long but it did not seem like it because the drills were changed up and we kept moving (even though it was pretty hot). We enjoyed it very much and found it very useful. There were no real negatives except for the hot humidy in September. Thanks,

  • AC

I spent 2 consecutive days at the academy. 3 hour sessions each day with a primary focus of ground strokes and volleys. The head pro Milan is very professional and personable. The assistant pros were all great as well. The resort facilities overall are fantastic and accommodated my family with 3 young children very well. There was a wide range of skill levels at the clinic and players were evaluated and separated based on their abilities. I look forward to returning for another round at the Topnotch Tennis Academy.

  • KA

Fantastic staff- very knowledgeable and professional. I came for a wedding with zero tennis attire and they completely outfitted me and threw me in a group with similar skills. Weakness- accommodations are a little pricey but that is to be expected at a resort like this.

  • PF

Very good instruction No weaknesses to comment in

I had a wonderful mini tennis getaway at Topnotch Resort. Booked a room for one night — arrived on a Thursday afternoon, had a private lesson with one of the pros and then a three-hour clinic the following morning. Great mix of drills and doubles play, with pros who really know their stuff and seem to really enjoy being there. Everyone involved, from the reservationist to the tennis pros, couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. The setting is spectacular and serene. Amenities were great. I’m a bath/hot tub person and bathtub in my hotel room bathtub was one of the best I’ve ever had. (I also managed to get some Jacuzzi time in at the outdoor pool. Beautiful!) Went for an early-morning run before the tennis clinic along a breathtaking 5-mile trail that connects Topnotch to the village of Stowe. Perfect way to start the day. Will definitely be making Topnotch a regular destination.

This is an awesome place to play tennis and work on improving your game. The staff, led by Milan, is very enthusiastic about tennis and helping everyone improve, regardless of level. Our teenage daughter also played in clinics and enjoyed it a great deal. The courts were great, and it is a luxury to have indoor courts when it rains. The Stowe area is full of other activities as well, and great dining options. Weaknesses: Topnotch Resort is a little pricey for a week stay and they need to work more closely with the tennis program to support if more fully, since it is a real gem for the property.

  • RS

If your family loves to play tennis, this is the place. Wonderful morning adult clinic AND also a junior clinic. The pros are knowledgeable, fun and will help you improve your game. On lovely days in VT (VT is a beautiful state to vacation) you play on clay courts, but if it RAINS on your tennis vacation there are indoor courts as well. In your spare time, the recreational path is fun to walk, run or bike. Other fun family things to do in the area – horse ride or zip line or hike. This is a great spot.

  • AF

Staff I worked with at 3 hour clinic were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. My needs were quickly assesssed and I received ongoing constructive feedback throughout play. Having indoor courts available was advantageous as it rained the day on my clinic.

  • HC

First of all, the resort is located in Stowe and it has breathtaking views and wonderful infrastructure. The tennis camp itself is one in which you feel very comfortable from the beginning. Milan has operated the camp for many years and he and his pros (a) know what they are doing; (b) communicate well with the guests; and (c) enjoy the results as much as those attending. These guys really seem to enjoy their jobs and we felt it! The tennis camp was a wonderful experience and we will definitely return.

  • BG

    Great matching and individual attention.

Topnotch is an exceptional destination for tennis, serenity, spa, fitness, hiking, skiing, bike riding – just about anything you would like to do. My tennis friends and I have made it a tradition to return to Topnotch annually – we first started going about 20 years ago. We have always thoroughly enjoyed the tennis instruction. The resort is spectacular, with views of Mt. Mansfield and lovely accommodation. There are many choices for excellent restaurants in the area, or it you prefer, high quality local markets for take out options. I would highly recommend Topnotch.

We were just there 8/2016, our 4th year there. My husband loves it, looking forward to go there every year. My two kids also love it there, the only issue is there aren’t many top players for them to play with during that time of year. Staffs there are great, we know most of the pros there now. Will definitely go back

  • KD

Topnotch tennis center provides the perfect combination of fun and discipline. The pros are full of energy and know exactly how hard to work you based on your skill and desires. Simba and Shaun have been there for years, and I can’t say enough good things about those two. It’s clear they have an extremely strong background knowledge of the game and understand how to find the gaps in your game and work on them. The environment is beautiful and inviting. You, honestly, cant go wrong.

Milan Kubala and his staff are exceptional. My wife and I have taken lessons with him for 3 or 4 years in a row now and we agree he is the best tennis instructor we’ve ever had. We can’t believe how quickly he can spot issues and make improvements. All the tennis staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. We try to get to Topnotch twice a year and would go more if we could! If you want to improve your game and enjoy beautiful VT countryside (great skiing) try Topnotch.

  • BW

I brought two friends and gave them a them a private tennis lesson on me . They thought it was just hitting a ball over the net . They were amazed at all the mechanics involved in tennis . Thanks to a great teaching from the head pro. They developed a new respect towards tennis and now love to play and learn . I still hear my friends talk about the experience a year after he fact and how great their experience was at Topnotch tennis resort . I go there as often as I can to build on my tennis skills . I have never been disappoint . The mountain atmosphere is breath taking .

  • JH

Great facility in wonderful location. The Pro’s are incredible…so friendly and talented with adults and kids.

  • MN

Really enjoyed the staff – very friendly and supportive.

  • SJ

The clinics at Toonotch are outstanding! They have a daily clinic which specializes in a particular stroke, forehand, backhand, volley, etc. You get a great work out and hit lots of balls. The instructors can adapt to any player level and make it both fun & challenging for everyone playing. The private lessons are also great! Simba & Sean can pick up on anything you need to work on and bring your game to another level. It’s the best tennis instruction I have experienced!

  • HW

We had a lot of fun taking clinics and private lessons.

  • KG

I had a fabulous experience at Top Notch Tennis academy both last year and again recently. The pros are fabulous, both incredibly knowledgable and friendly. They tailored the instruction specifically to our group’s requests and needs! The facilities are beautifully nestled in the mountains of Vermont; clean, up-to-date and inviting. The ability to use the spa after a few hours of vigorous tennis made all the difference in the world!

I have been coming to Topnotch since 2011. No only is the resort fabulous, they have the best tennis set up. Anyone can attend the tennis clinics, academies or reserve court time, you don’t have to be a member or a guest. This is a great all year resort for health and fitness. Private lessons, three hour Academies outside on the clay courts and premier instructors. Cardio tennis and specialized clinics for backhand, forehand as well as serving can give you just the edge you need to move to the next level. The team of professionals work exude health, fitness and a sincere desire to help you excell in the well with all ages and levels. The spa is the ultimate and the pool is as well. I’ve been a member since 2012. I thought I was in good shape when I moved up here, but this is a special place. I’ve never been so happy with my game and my health. Be prepared to win.

    Love the program

  • DS

Milan Kubala leads a tight and motivated group of instructors. Very precise yet relaxed learning environment, much attention to every detail is given. Will visit again this year, had a very fulfilling experience last year, as did my friends.

  • GN

Certainly one of the best in the Northeast. The quality of the pros and staff is as the name implies – Topnotch. I would certainly recommend this tennis program to anyone.

  • ST

My wife and I have been to Topnotch Resort many times. The tennis pros and academy are excellent. The 3 hour morning sessions focus on different things each day and you can start any day. They keep the number of players to four per pro. One great advantage is that they have indoor courts to use if it rains. My wife does not play tennis but Topnotch Resort has many activities she likes. There is a local theater group that does a good job. The weather in July and August is pleasant compared to the oppressive heat and humidity in the Washington, DC area. There are many good restaurants in and near Stowe. Burlington also has interesting things to visit.

  • KW

Tennis academy is great. Instruction is personalized, perfect for our group.

  • RM

Unbelievable tennis and other activities. Love this place.

  • MP

Topnotch tennis courts are located on the stunning grounds of a Stowe resort. Clay courts overlook the mountains; they are beautiful spring, summer and fall. Indoor courts cover rainy days and winter months. Tennis instruction is terrific, absolutely top notch. Also, tennis instruction is fun and the repeat clientele speaks to this. Topnotch provides excellent spa, swimming and dining facilities in a beautiful mid-century modern building. Even more courts could only enhance the present set up.

Still love TopNotch. The location, Resort, Facilities, and Tennis team are all TopNotch. It’s a magical place located in the mountains of Stowe, VT. We love the resort, outdoors, Stowe, and the spa and gym are great for after a long hard day on the tennis courts with the team there. Its an amazing outdoor natural location with everything you can want and more as far as the location, rooms, food. (The food&drink are amazing) Last year they upped the bar and talent behind the bar with the new management. SUCH a smart decision. Real bar-men and amazing chef and cook staff. We don’t want to leave the resort. The Tennis Team: Milan,Sean,Simba and Chad are all on the top of their game. They give great lessons and provide feedback and attention. I learn a few new things, tricks, every-time I visit. We do lessons, clinics and play a little too. They push you to learn, and get better and exceed expectations. Milan runs a tight ship, but he’s one of the best in the country for that same reason. You get what you pay for here, it’s not cheap! It’s a top tier, resort, and experience, and the tennis and location and courts are really maintained well. We love it and go back every summer with our family. What I think it needs: I’d love to see an upgrade to the indoor tennis complex across the street one-day? And or at least an internal upgrade to the carpets, couch, chair, and tv. It’s a bit old school in there.

Went to the Topnotch Academy for 3 days. Excellent instruction. Excellent drills. Will go back again. Stayed at Stowe Lodge instead of Topnotch Resort. Excellent accomodations and service. About 5 minutes away from the Tennis. Will stay there the next time I visit.

  • AC

We have been going there for the past 4 years. The resort is nice and the staffs are awesome. My kids and husband did the 5 hr academy for 3 days, always get good and helpful instructions and have fun doing it. Milan and crews are professional and knowledgable.

  • LG

Well run program in a beautiful setting. Knowledgable and enthusiastic staff

  • WA

Flawless experience at Topnotch Tennis Academy. It was our first time, and although we where concerned about playing 3-4 hours of tennis every day, the team lead by Milan (Head Pro) made our time absolutely fantastic! Although relatively new to the game (enthusiastic beginners!) we saw concrete improvement through the week we spend there. Attentive coaching with a nice blend of personalities, it’s just hard to find something bad to say about our experience. A great mix of fun, serious, practical learning of the game and real improvements. We left promising ourselves to be back soon. Also great for a long weekend out between lovers or with your kids, family. If anything, I would augment the light intensity for the indoor courts. Other than that, the facilities are well maintained, the tennis shop has plenty of quality material, and the rest of the resort, with its spa amenities, inside and outside pool in addition to the attraction in the region (45m from Burlington) make Topnotch a great place for relaxation and great tennis!

  • CC

Fantastic instruction and great energy from all of the pros.

  • DS

This tennis club offered a first class experience in terms of attention to my needs and specific skill set. I learned more in 3 days than I have the entire year before that in another club. The tennis director, Milan, is especially perceptive and can pick up subtle cues of your game to help you advance. I will definitely be back for the summer tennis camp, and am looking forward to further improving my game. Thank you, Milan, and Topnotch!

  • SB

Top Notch is one of my go-to places to learn, play and enjoy tennis around the globe. They have a great staff, Milan and team are awesome, and the facilities are solid. Sure, the indoor courts need a new building, touch-up and some better, newer franiture areas inside, but the place is still a fantastic resort, with great outdoor courts. TopNotch has a great spa, pool, and food along with the Tennis staff make this my #1 in the NorthEast, US. Note: The winters can be brutal in Stowe, but if you ski, why not try it once We prefer the summer months as we can go outside and enjoy outdoor Tennis as well. The staff are great, patient and professional and very solid. They are all former players and great coach’s. The Spa can fix you up as well as pools and fix you once you’re stiff and or have injuries as well. I look forward to going every summer a few times and enjoying Stowe, the outdoors, and the competitive Tennis at TopNotch.

  • CE

Great Pro Tennis Team: Milan, Shaun & Simba. Great facility manager: Chad. You will always feel welcome. Summer on the outdoor courts is simply magical.
