I signed up for an 90-minute tennis clinic at the Trapp Family Lodge in August 2024, and hit the lottery with Ryan as my instructor. I ended up being the only student that morning, so I had one-on-one time with Ryan. He asked if there was an aspect of my game I wanted to work on. For me, I wanted to un-learn my self-taught 70s style forehand. Ryan was great at giving me physical cues and mental models for reimagining my stroke. We worked on a few slight changes vs. trying to build the whole swing from the ground up. I found that really effective since it didn’t screw up my original way of hitting. I left the lesson feeling like I could begin applying the tips to my practice sessions back home in a focused and intentional way.
Not only was Ryan a fantastic instructor, he was incredibly personable. His vibe is both professional and chill. I highly recommend grabbing some time with Ryan at the Trapp Family Lodge.
