Set deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, the Yonahlossee Resort & Club started out in 1922 as a summer camp for girls, but took on an entirely different dimension after being converted to a tennis resort in 1987.
As now guests stayed either in an inn or the cottages and homes on the property and dining in the 1920s stone house now known as the Gamekeeper Restaurant and Bar or other local restaurants. Although the resort’s amenities have been expanded to include a spa, fitness center, and pool, tennis at the member-owned private club (though open to guests) remains the centerpiece: outdoors, from May through October on its seven Har-Tru courts, and indoors on three hard courts year round.

Outstanding clay court resort in the High Country of North Carolina! Great staff for lessons, match making for tennis and an excellent USTA SRS Clay court tournament in late July each summer! A true hidden gem of a resort in Blue Ridge Mountains with lots of outdoor activities and many good dining choices in the area!
I’ve been around the block and know a great place when it presents itself. Well this is one of those diamonds in the rough that has to be recognized as a sweet destination for those tennis (or romantic) endeavors that won’t be found elsewhere in the country.
The tennis is on 7 clay courts and there are 3 indoor courts for inclimate weather (or winter). The scenary is second to none as trees For honeymooners that love tennis you CAN NOT beat his place for a get away! For those inner-city folk who want to get away to a great destination, far removed from the hustle and bustle, this is the place to be.
The staff has the guests first and foremost. Ample social opportinties are provided by the club so new-comers feel at home and welcomed very quickly. The facility also has a full-sized lap pool and 2 workout rooms with adequate equipment to fill the void from your home club. Housing is superb. The cabins and other housing options are SECLUDED, quiet, nicely furnished. Think of the sweetest ski cabin you’ve ever been to. This equals that for sure.
Great destination. Peaceful, quiet, excellent resources in a romote location which should be a top consideration for the tennis entheusist. Two thumbs up!
Amazing resort. Beautiful scenery in the mountains, courts were great, staff and pros were excellent and fun to work with. I took private lessons from the pros and made major strides with my game. Fantastic experience all-around, I cannot wait to return.
Fabulous facilities, and the most accommodating staff you’ll ever want to meet. So friendly and helpful. Good selection of clothing and shoes in the pro shop, too. You couldn’t find a better place to play tennis. The courts are well maintained, in a beautiful mountain setting.
A great tennis facility with thoughtful, welcoming staff who emphasize making their guests feel welcome! Courts are very well maintained, fresh water provided,, and your every need met. Our tennis group has been going to Yonahlossee both fall and spring for an outing for over 20 years,, and it just keeps getting better! I could not recommend it more highly!
Yonahlossee indoor tennis court has great facilities. We really enjoyed playing games there. More important is that they have great team on site to provide the professional service to the guests. We really have great time with the staff there.
Trengths: -courts are new, clean -people are friendly, helpful -great stuffs to eat and drinks for free -rackets are good -balls are new and good quality
Incredible place on the mountains, great service, superb facilities, great atmosphere. Incredible to have 3 indoor courts in the middle of the mountians. I am from Uruguay, South America, and I spent a wonderful sporty weekend and Yonahlossee lodge. Congratulations..

you will return again and again and after awhile you’ll just give up and move there!
This little gem has six outdoor soft courts, three indoor soft courts and two offsite hard court. Staff is incredible and pro Bryan Dirk was selected North Carolina pro of the year. The area is beutiful sitting in the middle of four to six thousand blue ridge mountains. Incredible resturants, one, the gamekeeper is on site. You will love this place
My husband and I went for a five days vacations and we stayed for a month. We loved it so much that we can not wait to come back next year. The tennis pro and the people who work in the office were amazing with us. They were alawys ready to help us in anything. They set up tennis matches for us all the time and that gave us the oportunity to share with other nice players from Yonahlossee. We hardly recomend this place specially if you love tennis. The coursts are in great shape.
My husband and I played in a senior tournament at Yonahlossee this past weekend. The tennis was very competive and the tournament itself was highly organized. The pro, Bryan Dirk and all his staff went out of their way to make sure everyone had a pleasant time. We stayed on afterwards to play more tennis. Matches were set up for us by Stan and we even had a really great lesson with Bryan. Overall- a great place and great people!! And the scenery is the most beautiful part of it all.
I visited Yonahlossee Tennis Club on vacation. Upon arrival the Stan gave my wife and myself a complete tour of the facility including the pool and fitness room. I was greeted by an excellent and caring staff each day I was there and they arranged matches with others at the proper level of play. I had matches arranged for each day I requested which was 3 out of 5 days. The courts were in excellent condition and the staff made sure everyone was enjoying their time on the court.
