Racquet Sports at ZUMA Wellness Center

Earlier in 2025, I had the opportunity to visit Alys Beach with my tennis racquets, and the experience absolutely exceeded any expectations. From the moment I drove onto iconic 30A and see the palm trees lining the entrance to Alys Beach, I knew that the weekend ahead was about to look and feel like a postcard.
I unpacked my car and unlocked the condo, which opened up to views directly facing the Town Center, an area that includes a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. The heart of Alys Beach is community – and the Town Center is just that. It’s a gathering space where locals and guests are invited to unwind, connect and savor each moment. Most of my mornings and evenings ended within this space. From a refreshing iced latte to a quick bite for lunch to a tray of freshly-prepped oysters, the walkable Town Center of Alys Beach is truly one of the most memorable parts of the area.
The first morning on property, I gathered my tennis bag and biked over to ZUMA Wellness Center, which is where the racquet sports are located. I joined an adult tennis clinic with residents who were in the area for the long weekend. Some of them came alone or knew another friend, which one of the players came with her three young children who participated in their own junior clinic on the red clay court adjacent to ours. After the morning hit, I ventured back to the condo to get refreshed and grab a bite to eat at Raw & Juicy, one of the cafes about a block from the Town Center.
After sipping on a smoothie, I headed towards Caliza Pool to enjoy some moments in the sun. This pool, which is just a short bike ride from ZUMA as well as from the Town Center, is an impeccable space. With a large swimming pool as well as a family-friendly area, and plenty of seating, this pool was just as stunning externally as it was refreshing under water. After a day in the sunshine, I enjoyed a few hours at the condo before heading to O-KU for sushi and refreshments.
The following day yielded a beach day, more biking around the property, including within the property’s own nature preserve, and an early dinner at The Citizen, which serves up fresh seafood and tasteful bites. I couldn’t help but browse the windows of the shops and cafes in the evening as well.
While my visit to Alys Beach was short, it was certainly filled with some of the most stunning views and memorable moments. From the exquisite architecture of the property’s homes to the incredibly thoughtful Town Center and perfectly-manicured Racquet Sports Center and fitness space, Alys Beach will continue to be one of my top destinations, and I hope to visit again in the future.
