Owl’s Nest Resort: New Hampshire’s Hub for Court Sports

Acclaimed tennis, pickleball and platform tennis facilities lining the stunning White Mountains
When you think of the White Mountains area in New Hampshire, you may be envisioning a winter snowscape or a scenic destination known for its hiking, skiing, local events, and historic charm. While all of this (and more!) is absolutely accurate, Owl’s Nest Resort has claimed the region’s racquet sports focus —and their facilities aren’t just yet another resort amenity.
Owl’s Nest is the only complex in New Hampshire that offers tennis, pickleball and platform tennis in one setting. Open daily as the sun greets the White Mountains in the background, Owl’s Nest provides locals, visitors, and resort guests with an expansive itinerary of racquet sport endeavors, regardless of your age or your experience level. Their facilities include four heated platform tennis courts, eight European red clay tennis courts, and 13 pickleball courts. From clinics and lessons to round robins and seasonal mixers, this location is bursting with opportunity on the court and beyond.
“We’ve seen our racquet community burst into life with the completion of our racquet complex in 2022. Our four, heated platform tennis courts headline our racquet offerings in the Winter and are enjoyed by members and guests alike through clinics, mixers, and leagues on a weekly basis. There’s nothing better than enjoying a panoramic view of the White Mountains while playing in world-class facilities!” – Cos Chiujdea, Director of Racquet Sports
Notable to Owl’s Nest, their public facilities are considered to not only be the largest tennis, pickleball, and platform tennis complex in New England, but they also successfully hosted the first national level paddle tournament in New Hampshire in November 2023. The White Mountains Open, an American Platform Tennis Association (APTA) event, featured a 16-team draw that not only drew acclaimed players, but it also accommodated fans and guests for its inaugural occasion. Anticipated to continue beyond 2023, The White Mountains Open created a tradition that Owl’s Nest Resort is proud to carry on for years to come. While tennis is a favorite racquet sport, and pickleball and padel are getting a lot of publicity lately, platform tennis is actually the original winter racquet sports — and we find it sharpens our volleys and enhances our tennis ability.
While a national event is certainly impressive, we’re not the only publication that’s seen the potential of this northeastern gem. Recently, Tennis Channel featured Owl’s Nest as a top destination for resort and tennis travel. Check out the exclusive feature below for a first-hand look at the amenities, the location, and more!
Winter may not seem like a primetime racquet sport season, but Owl’s Nest has assessed and curated a calendar of events that draws prospective players as well as seasoned guests. On the radar for the upcoming season are the following racquet sport opportunities:
With an attention to detail at every turn, Owl’s Nest tennis professionals, event directors and resort staff welcome guests and area visitors to their location year-round. In addition to racquet sports, the resort’s popular golf courses, 10-acre Lake Harold, beachside pool hot tub, and dining experiences are simply added aspects to an atmosphere that’s both secluded and rejuvenating yet inviting and family-friendly.
