Set on 21 landscaped acres overlooking the South Shore in Paget parish, Coral Beach stands out as a haven for avid players. Its eight clay courts, three with lights, are the social heart of this intimate property.
Guests bed down in one of 13 cottages (with from one to five bedrooms) interspersed throughout the gardens or in one of the 32 rooms and suites, whose private terraces have views of the pink-sand beach and turquoise ocean below. There are two dining options on site (jacket and tie requested for gentlemen in the evening), a bar, and a games room as well as a fitness center and boutique spa.
The club dates to 1948 when it was constructed on land that has belonged to Bermuda’s Smith family for eight generations. The oldest structure on the property, called Old Farm, was built in 1650. The first tennis courts came along in 1939 and were soon the venue for an invitational tournament. From 1995-2008, it staged the XL Bermuda Open, an ATP event, and it continues to host adult and junior tournaments at various times of the year.

Getting there
Seasons: Year-round, but best from March through October
We spent a week a the Coral Beach & Tennis Club durign the first week of December as part of a 4-day clinic put on by OTI (Online Tennis Instruction).
Since our playtime was limited to the clinic, I can’t really speak to the other programs offered.
The tennis facility itself is first rate, with 8 sheltered har-tru tennis courts and a fully-stocked pro shop. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Note that all players are required to wear Wimbledon whites while on the court. Tops and bottoms and socks must be at least 90% white. Shoes can be any colour. And no pickleball! 🙂
This is a private club offering play to Resort members and local members. They also host a ITF event in December.
The Resort itself is a beautiful sprawling beachfront property with lots of history. Many parts of the resort are well over 80 years and some of the accomodations are not at all modern, but very charming and clean nonetheless.
The food served in the dining room is pricey but absolutely first rate. All the staff from the waiters, to the reception to the groundskeepers are all very friendly and always greet you with a smile.
Not much of a pool deck, but the beach is where its at. Stunning cliffside beach with food and drink service.
We want to see your racquet sports vacations! When you’re documenting your trip, tag @TennisResortsOnline on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn and use #TROAdventures for a chance to be featured on our page.
