Originally a cottage colony along a perfect crescent of beach near Montego Bay, Half Moon has evolved into a lushly landscaped, 400-acre resort estate with some 250 rooms, suites, and villas. It has a broad array of sports facilities, including a Robert Trent Jones golf course, watersports center, croquet lawns, and a racquet sports complex with 13 hard courts, squash courts, and a fitness center.
Former touring pro and Caribbean Davis Cup player and coach Robert Hale directs the tennis operations. Since he took over, he has dramatically beefed up the program, so that there are now clinics, exhibitions, round robins and yoga or aerobics classes going on every day. He also enhanced the training program for his teaching pros, which continues even after they’re certified, in order to generally improve the level of instruction. And it remains an easy place to find a game and a relaxing place to play, with courts bordered by colorful oleander and ball boys to provide an extra dimension of service.

Beach: The original cottages border a crescent of beach that begins near the main hotel; however, there are other ribbons and scallops of sand along the length of the property.
