I love the setting of Oglebay.. it’s peaceful and remote and old-timey. but the staff is professional and top-notch.

This is a very nice tennis facility and their best asset is probably the tennis director, Marc White. I was attending a business conference at the resort, many colleagues and friends in the group play golf, but not tennis. I managed to get into a local evening mens league thanks to Marc’s assistance, met some good players and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also observed some children’s lessons and thought they were conducted very well. The resort is very nice in general, plenty to keep people interested. From my perspective the tennis facility and opportunities put the place over the top.

My sister and I truly enjoyed ourselves at Oglebay. Marc White is a wonderful tennis instructor and we both learned a lot. He was really good to work with. My sister and I are at different skill levels, but Marc was able to help us both simultaneously and tailor a lesson for each of us. The resort itself is nice. There’s not much water pressure in the shower, but other than that, the room was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is also very good with a wide variety of food.

Marc White is a great personality and tremendous teacher. I played in a mens night program which allowed me to meet several other players of same ability and set up matches the rest of my week at Olgebay. Marc also had a junior tennis camp that my 3 kids attended, ages 7,7 and 9. They had never played tennis and Marc taught them the basics and they were able to hit some by the end of the week and had a great time and are already asking when they can go again. Each day there was some activity at the center to get you involved and active. Also 3 golf courses, a par 3 course and miniature golf course at resort. Great family resort.

Not sure four courts qualify as a “tennis destination” but just returned from Ojai Inn & Spa and was certainly glad I brought my raquets. Hit with Tennis Director, Tom Rohrbacher, must admit he truly helped my game with a few incisive suggestions. He also customized one of my raquets with new strings and leadtape. Tom is terrific and I wholeheartedly recommend both the Inn and the tennis facility to anyone seeking both.

I visited Oglebay Resort for a conference, and had the good fortune to be able to take two private lessons with Marc White the Director of Tennis. Marc was outstanding. Unlike many others pros that I have played with, Marc has an exceptional ability to verbalize and demonstrate keys elements of stroke production and the serve. I think that in two lessons Marc already raised my game a notch or two. I only wish that I lived closer so that I could take more lessons from Marc.

We recently spent a week at Oglebay Resort and Conference Center. The first person we met in the tennis center was Marc White, the Director of Tennis. He personally ensured my and my family had a fabulous tennis vacation. His clinics were great. Personal instruction was outstanding. He was both positive and motivating to the younger players. The facilities are top notch as well. I could not be more pleased with Marc’s effort and enthusiasm.

Oglebay is in a beautiful setting in the hills north of Wheeling, WV. There are 10 Har-Tru courts and Marc White, the tennis director, has numerous programs fro all levels. I’m a 4.0 recreational player and had a great time at Men’s Night. Marc combined drills with match play, and there were players of all abilities. I had a great time. I would highly recommended the tennis programs here and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Great time with pro Mark White. Kept out group moving for two days of fun, energetic and instructive tennis. Recommend highly. Stayed in a cabin and cooked in. A great combo for a tennis weekend.

Recently a group of 3.5 seniors contacted Mark White, the pro at Oglebay and asked if he could design a week-end program for us. Mark put together a package of lecture, pro videos, drills, games, tips, and the grand finale tournament that was just perfect. Each of the three sessions was designed to be 2 hours, and they typically turned into 3 hour sessions (1 on Friday and two on Saturday). This was our second year, and if we stay healthy we’ll be back again.
