High energy camp with lots of situational playing that allows You to improve while actually playing; also a great fundraiser for a college team. The opportunity to play games with students and with all American ranked players is a great feature!

I attended the Walla Walla Tennis and Wine Camp June 21-14, 2018 for the first time. It FAR exceeded my expectations! The tennis courts and facility were fantastic, the tennis instruction was wonderful (fast-paced, fun and highly skilled), the lodging they suggested (Marcus Whitman Historic Hotel) was perfect in both comfort and convenience, and the food & wine were unbelievably great! I will definitely be doing this camp again in the future! It was a perfect weekend with a bunch of fun, supportive people! Bravo!

Walla Walla Wine and Tennis Camps are spectacular, and can be hard to get into – they fill up very quickly! I’ve gone multiple times (we are from Seattle), and now my husband (he’s more of a golfer than a tennis player) insists on coming with me, and does all the tennis with me – so fun. The coaches (Greg, Jeff, John and the array of guest coaches from across the county) are absolutely incredible. The Whitman tennis team kids help instruct and play round robin with us. Approachable, friendly, talented -such great people! Pair that with the bounty of Walla Walla world class wineries and beautiful farm-to-table food, and it’s a slam dunk.

This camp combines my two favorite things, tennis and wine! You spend 4 hours on court in the mornings followed by afternoons wine tasting and gourmet dinners at wineries each evening. My husband and I have done this camp for the past four years and recommend it highly! The best part is all the proceeds go towards the tennis program at Whitman College.

This was one of the best getaways I’ve ever done. The tennis was great. The coaching felt 1:1 even though the camp had 16 players. The food and Wine was phonemonal. It’s an incredible value. I will be back.

I went with an international group of friends on their recommendation. We rented a large home for 6 people near campus. We could walk to camp. The town is small and quaint, a farming community filled with Wineries and tasting rooms. The Whitman College campus was quite beautiful. The courts were very nice surrounded by beautiful old trees and campus buildings. The coaches were fun and enthusiastic and had time following camp to work on individual things. Groups were well intermingled for tennis and dinners/ wine tastings. The food we had was amazing! Fresh, local- catered to allergies and other preferences. The wine was flowing, very generous on the catering end. The experience far exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to book another camp! They rotate experiences, chefs and wineries, guest coaches, so each camp is a little different. It was fantastic!

We absolutely had an amazing time ! Beyond what I imagined! It was so well Organized the tennis and all the wine tastings and the wonderful dinners ! We enjoyed all the locations , having a ride to everything ! But most of all the people that put this all together are so nice and accommodating! The tennis was uplifting super fun and I learned a lot ! The fellow campers were all so nice and gracious! We can’t wait to come back ! I feel very special to be a part of this program ! Thank you so much !

Ahh, tennis and wine camp. And tennis players like to eat nice food and drink some good wine. Who doesn’t? What if I told you that there existed such a place, that not only combines tennis with food and wine, but is some of the most fun tennis you’ve ever played but also some of the single most amazing wine dinners you’ve ever had? And it happens day-after-day, night-after-night. Enter Tennis and Wine Camp at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. The Tennis This is first and foremost a tennis camp. There are warmup routines, technical focus on fundamentals, match situation drills, and fun games that get you running around and interacting with everyone at the camp. There’s a wide range of abilities. There were 2.5 level beginners all the way up to 5.0 superstars. The staff do a great job of mixing it up so that you’re either playing with similar levels or involved in a game where skill level doesn’t matter. Scroll down for a typical day’s schedule. You’re guaranteed a fun group too. Think about it, these are people just like you – fellow foodies who play tennis! Morning session in the Walla Walla sun The Staff One important note: the camp staff runs this camp in order to raise money for the Whitman College men’s and women’s tennis team. And the single biggest reason this camp works is due to that staff. We’re talking not only some of the friendliest people around, but super organized, thoughtful, and FUN. And I should also mention they are AMAZING tennis coaches. Greg Patton (Bio) and Jeff Northam (Bio) are the head coaches of the Boise State and Whitman College tennis teams. From 1984 through 1987, Greg served as the Head Junior National Coach with the USA Junior National Team that included Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Michael Chang, Patrick McEnroe, and more. But at this camp he’ll be teaching YOU. So much more could be written about Greg and Jeff (and other staffers John Hein (Bio), Tom Sawatzki, etc.) but you’re best off going to the camp and meeting them yourself. The Food If you are a foodie tennis player this camp is a no brainer. The restaurants are top quality. I live in Seattle and it always surprises me that a small town like Walla Walla has the quality of restaurants that it does. But you won’t be eating at just restaurants. My favorite meal was the meal we had on the hill of the Figgins vineyard. The cost of the camp was worth it for just this one meal. We were served amazing amazing food made with local ingredients, and served wine made with the grapes grown in the earth below our feet. It was some of the best wine I’ve ever had and best food in a setting straight out of a magazine.
