Get Set Tennis: An Enthusiastic Duo Down Under

From viral content to Australia travel tips, get to know the names behind Get Set Tennis.

From Canberra to the states and back, the pair behind Get Set Tennis has had quite the journey, but it’s their passion for the court sport that has kept them tethered. Having played and studied together in Australia, Nelson Parker and Reza Tompsett ventured across the world to North America to pursue their love of tennis as coaching professionals. Their experience in the world of resort-style tennis instruction not only propelled their extensive resumes, but it also taught them the necessary skills to continue the pursuit of their dreams — an excursion that has led to what we know as Get Set Tennis.

After training and competing at the highest level, Parker became a coach at John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in Texas while Tompsett took his racquet to The Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne before they both ultimately journeyed back to Australia.

“We accredit a lot of our coaching and people skills to our experience at Newks and the Ritz,” Parker said. “We were seeing new people every week and learned how to connect with them and build friendships, which is something we’re now doing in Australia.”

The Team Behind Get Set Tennis

Combining fit, fun, and friendships across four locations & virtually through social media

  • Reza (right): Owner/Manager

While their tennis backgrounds have led them to this point, Get Set Tennis is more than about developing your skills. Their personalities and love of the sport have guided them to share their personalities across social media, notably their Instagram and YouTube channels.

Here’s a look at some of the content you can expect from this duo:

Their content brings a light-hearted nature inside the lines, and that’s exactly what Get Set Tennis was built upon. Parker explains that you don’t have to be the next global star to have tennis become your sport for life. After over eight years of growing their organization, Get Set Tennis now spans four locations, including Kaleen, Canberra, and two in Amaroo. What exactly can you expect at their locations?

Get Set Tennis offers seasonal programming almost every week of the year, six days a week. Their options range from youth and junior options through adult clinics and training. They also offer private lessons at all of their locations. If you’re in Australia, check out their class options through this link.
