Why You Should Spend Three Days at the USTA National Campus

Step away from your ordinary routine and onto the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. Adult players can spend three days immersed in tennis at one of the most impressive facilities in the country.

The idea is simple: travel to Orlando, play a lot of tennis, work with expert coaches, meet other passionate players, and leave with a better game and a memorable on-court experience.

Located in Orlando’s Lake Nona community, the USTA National Campus is home to approximately 100 courts and serves as a true destination for tennis players of all levels. The facility is open to the public and has become one of the country’s premier places to learn, compete, and simply enjoy the sport. One of the best ways to do so is by registration for a three-day Adult Camp, designed not simply as a clinic, but as a tennis getaway.

Coaching That Meets You Where You Are

The best tennis instruction isn’t about putting every player through the same series of drills. It’s about understanding each player as they arrive on court.

That’s a central part of the Adult Camp experience at the National Campus. Players are grouped with others of similar NTRP levels, and the instruction is designed to meet players where they are. Rather than a one-size-fits-all clinic, the emphasis is on helping each player identify where they can improve and then providing the instruction, repetitions, and strategic knowledge to get there.

Whether you’re looking to become more consistent, improve your doubles strategy, sharpen your singles game, or take the next step competitively, there’s an option for you. The coaching approach is personal and athlete-centered. Coaches get to know each player’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals and use that understanding to help players progress.

For adult players who have spent years playing leagues, tournaments, recreational matches, or weekly club tennis, that personalized attention can be particularly valuable. Sometimes the next level isn’t about making a dramatic change; it’s about identifying the right adjustment and understanding how to apply it when the score matters.

A Three-Day Tennis Getaway

The USTA National Campus describes its Adult Camps as a three-day tennis getaway, and that’s an apt description. The schedule provides substantial time on court for instruction, drills, and match-play opportunities while leaving players with the feeling that they’ve actually gotten away for a few days.

The three-day format is available for both singles and doubles players, with camps designed for players in the NTRP 3.0-5.0 range. Depending on the start date, players can arrive for a Monday or Wednesday start and settle into several days of concentrated tennis.

That fact alone creates a different rhythm from a typical weekend clinic. Just as important, you’re surrounded by other adult players who have made the same decision: take a few days, travel somewhere special, and make tennis the centerpiece of the trip.

The Home of American Tennis

The USTA National Campus encompasses more than 60 acres, creating a sprawling tennis environment that feels much more like a tennis destination than a conventional club. The campus features approximately 100 courts, including championship courts, collegiate courts, Har-Tru courts, and free-to-play family courts. It also incorporates technology and amenities designed to support players and spectators alike.

In other words, the backdrop for an Adult Camp isn’t simply a collection of courts. It’s an opportunity to experience the infrastructure of American tennis from the inside.

For a serious tennis player, there’s something special about walking onto a campus where national, collegiate, professional, and recreational tennis all share the same grounds.

More Than Court Time

The value of the Adult Camp extends beyond the hours spent hitting tennis balls. Each three-day tennis camp registration includes lunch on the two full days of camp, a private one-on-one lesson with a National Campus professional, complimentary racquet demos through the Campus Pro Shop, and access to free open play beginning at noon on the day before camp starts, subject to court availability. Participants also receive a special National Campus gift.

Guest speakers add another dimension to the experience, with topics that can include areas such as mental skills and other aspects of becoming a better competitor. Improving at tennis isn’t only about producing a better forehand or a more reliable serve. It’s also about understanding strategy, managing pressure, making better decisions, and learning how to turn practice-court improvements into match-court results.

Because the experience brings together players with a shared interest in improving, there’s a social component as well. This three-day camp creates plenty of opportunities to make new tennis connections that can continue long after the final session.

Make It a Florida Tennis Vacation

You aren’t simply booking three days of instruction at the USTA National Campus. You’re giving yourself a reason to travel, a concentrated block of time to work on your tennis, and an opportunity to play at one of the country’s premier tennis facilities.

One of the biggest advantages of the USTA National Campus is its location. Lake Nona sits in southeast Orlando, close to Orlando International Airport and within easy reach of the city’s major attractions. The USTA notes that the campus is about 20 minutes from Orlando’s theme parks and Convention Center. Lake Nona itself has plenty to offer, including restaurants, entertainment, outdoor activities, hotels, and public art. Players can build an entire vacation around the camp, or they can simply add a little Florida exploration before or after their tennis days.

For tennis players traveling with a spouse, family, or friends who aren’t attending the camp, that variety can make the trip particularly appealing. One person can spend the morning working on their backhand while someone else explores Lake Nona, shops, enjoys the area’s restaurants, or heads toward Orlando’s famous attractions.

Florida’s other destinations aren’t necessarily out of reach either. The east coast beaches are roughly an hour or less from Lake Nona, while Florida’s west coast beaches are approximately two hours away. In other words, an Adult Camp can be the centerpiece of a tennis trip without having to be the entirety of the trip.

Planning Your Next Tennis Getaway

The USTA’s fall and winter Adult Camps include singles and doubles opportunities, with multiple dates scheduled throughout October, November and December, as well as early 2027. Dates and availability can change, so players should check the official schedule and register in advance before planning their trip. USTA partner hotel rates also make it easier to turn the camp into a full getaway.

With the right combination of coaching, court time, and destination appeal, your next tennis camp doesn’t have to feel like another item on the calendar. It can be the reason to pack the racquet bag, book the trip, and give yourself three days to get better at the game you love.
