Roy Barth Tennis Center Proudly Offers More Than Tennis
What started as a temporary offer to guests and members is now a fully embedded program within the Roy Barth Tennis Center at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. As the fastest growing sport, pickleball has helped expand the popularity of racquet sports programming across the country, and Director of Tennis, Jonathan Barth knew that in order to keep up with the rising demand, he would need to prioritize allocating a portion of the facility to the sport.
The Expansion
Once Barth and his team recognized that the demand for pickleball was here to stay, they decided to permanently add blended lines to four hard tennis courts in 2018. Shortly after, they began to add in regular pickleball programming at the Center and even hired a pickleball instructor. Over the next few years, instead of continuing to share court space, Barth decided that it was time to expand the facility to include dedicated pickleball court space. From there, six courts were added, giving the property 10 total courts, including the four blended lined courts. Now, Kiawah Island Golf Resort and the Roy Barth Tennis Center are able to host events, camps, tournaments, and additional programming for guests of all ages and skill levels.

Pickleball Clinics
- 2-hour sessions
- Small-group sessions including demonstrations, discussion of processes, drills and point play

What about Padel?
