Chateau Élan started out as a winery, its vineyards arrayed around a chateau modeled on those in 16th-century France in a setting of rolling hills, 40 minutes north of Atlanta. It has since evolved into a 3,500-acre resort/residential estate with a 320-room inn, 45 holes of golf, eight restaurants, a 35,000-square-foot European-style spa, and a tennis center designed by former touring pro Stan Smith consisting of five hard and clay tennis courts and another four courts devoted to pickleball.

Alejandro (Alex) at Chateuax Elan is a great tennis pro. My wife and I visited in early June and took 3 semi-private lessons from him. My wife drilled with pros a lot and said he was the best teacher she has drilled with. He improved my game drastically, I can only hope to remember what he taught me. The resort’s top-notch golf courses appear to be excellent and the price is very affordable.
Definitely a highlight of the year. Enjoyed the resort atmosphere and especially the tennis. I would highly recommend. Food was good, could have had a little more variety. Head to the spa restaurant for the best menu on the resort.
The tennis pros were very engaged with the players. They were knowledgeable and were focused on customer service. It was obvious they enjoyed what they do and are good at it.
The tennis portion of my trip was fun. The pros ran great clinics and were very nice. I highly recommend this tennis camp. The employees in the restaurant and bar in the hotel were not as wonderful as the tennis staff. I had to practically pitch a fit in order for the bar and restaurant bills to be split so each person could pay their own check. The restaurant and bar were not busy at all and the staff I talked to were rude. My group ended up getting separate checks, but it was after heated conversations. I had to threaten for my group of 20 women to go elsewhere next year. Our server that evening was great. He was pleasant, attentive and a great server. In order for me to go again on this trip next year, I will have to be guaranteed that we won’t have any issues with separate checks at the hotel restaurant and bar.
This is a great place to go for a get away close to home . Tennis was super fun. Patty’s pub was not good, but the other restaurants are awesome.
I won this trip but it was so great I would consider buying it to do it again!
It was a blast. Very well organized, lots of fun tennis. Beautiful setting.
Spa service was quite good, but the setting was as noisy as a bar. I’ve never encountered anything like that before, and I am a regular spa visitor across the world.
Gorgeous venue! Fun and exciting tennis atmosphere. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to return.
I highly recommend Chateau Elan for the Cliff Drysdale Tennis Clinic weekend. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. Time they took with each student was very meaningful and personal. Would go back immediately if I could!
Chateau Elan is beautiful, and the food is superb, but it took us over an hour to be served our meals at Marc’s, Versailles, and the pool. And the hotel would not honor 1 hour early check in, or 1 hour late checkout. 9 of us from Tampa thoroughly enjoyed the tennis!
Staff was excellent and gave a good variety of instruction for all levels of players. It was very well organized and ran smoothly, which is great when trying to also relax.
The tennis program was great and a lot of fun. I would recommend it to others. The service at Chateau Elan was below expectations for a resort with dining, maid service, and overall customer service. The dining options were quite expensive. $40 for a salad, etc…The resort is beautiful and the food is great, the service not so much.
Beautiful setting, great food, superb tennis instruction, relaxing pool, superior service and amenities.
The Marc chophouse and Paddy’s were superb. Versailles took an exceptionally long time to bring our food and the manager Neal needs some additional training in customer service as he was not very accommodating and was argumentative. Front desk was variable as two of nine had requested early check in and were the only members of our group whose rooms were not ready.
The tennis program and all the pros were OUTSTANDING! Chateau Elan has very nice facilities but the service was beyond slow and some of the 20 percent service charge added to all bills was outrageous due to lack of service by the pool and in the restaurants. The room was nice and the facilities were nice but service was well below expectations.
I attended a tennis weekend at Château Elan and the entire weekend surpassed expectations. The Cliff Drysdale staff was helpful, enthusiastic, accommodating and provided helpful drills and instruction throughout the weekend.
My three-day visit to Chateau Elan was just wonderful! The format of the tennis clinics was perfect for me: I was able to participate in all the drills, with all levels of players, despite being one of the lower-level players. The tennis pros were terrific! They were very energetic and knowledgable, able to pinpoint weaknesses in our playing and give constructive feedback and recommendations. I enjoyed meeting the other women in the group, and the Saturday evening winery tour and wine tasting was a great way to break the ice and get to know everyone. The resort was beautiful, the restaurants (especially Marc) were great (though pricey!), and the hotel staff was very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this experience to others. My only word of advice: to get the most out of the tennis, one should be at least a 3.0 player (as was suggested in the online registration).
Loved the tennis coaches and staff. They were high energy and a good mix of styles that complemented one another well. They were flexible in meeting the different levels of experience of all the players. I definitely think my tennis game improved after this weekend! The resort was beautiful. The rooms were well appointed and the food delicious. I would love to visit each year!
Very good camp for doubles play interaction. Could have more time spent on serving during doubles match and return of serve.,
Resort was beautiful. We had some service issues but everything was dealt with in a professional manner. Resort, especially pool area seemed overwhelmed by the amount of guests present. Tennis experience was wonderful. Group lessons with our team were organized and fun. Micheal and Xavier were awesome.
Our group of 16 enthusiastic tennis team celebrated a members 50 birthday at Chateau Elan. We rented 2 golf villas for the weekend and had a fantastic celebration. We played tennis everyday with high energy, extremely organized private group clinics by pro Matt Kirkman. The tennis include both instruction and point play with fun games in the mix. Matt kirkman made sure all 2 hour sessions included 3 pros for our large group. We stayed on the property the entire weekend and used the complementary shuttle to access restuarants, tennis etc. We felt comfortable having lunch immediately after tennis in the beautiful freshly renovated golf club, dining outside overlooking the greens. We all enjoyed the wine tasting and tour and dining in a private room at the Marc Restaurant. The property is stunning!!!! We also went on bike rides and lounged by the pool!! So fun! Highly recommend!!!
Love Matt and the resort Girls weekend!
Close proximity to ATL; great instruction with ability to customize tennis /stay package in terms of type /amount of drills and use of other resort facilities as desired – spa/fitness/pool etc; Multiple pros and drills to enhance learning opportunities Hotel is new/renovated and still working through kinks – walls are thin so perhaps suggest that group stays next to each other vs spread out through resort/ next to others on different schedules; however resort/rooms are very comfortable and offers lots of activities beyond tennis
Enjoyed our two-day team clinic at Chateau Elan! The pros were all excellent and gave constructive instruction. There is no pro shop to speak of — only golf hats available. Would love to see that aspect built up. The resort itself is being heavily renovated, so the atmosphere will improve with time. Overall, I will certainly look forward to returning.
