Chateau Élan started out as a winery, its vineyards arrayed around a chateau modeled on those in 16th-century France in a setting of rolling hills, 40 minutes north of Atlanta. It has since evolved into a 3,500-acre resort/residential estate with a 320-room inn, 45 holes of golf, eight restaurants, a 35,000-square-foot European-style spa, and a tennis center designed by former touring pro Stan Smith consisting of five hard and clay tennis courts and another four courts devoted to pickleball.
Alejandro Aguirre with Cliff Drysdale Tennis directs the tennis and pickleball complex. Originally from Venezuela, Alejandro brings more than 15 years of extensive experience teaching tennis and pickleball to a variety of players of all ages and skill levels. Prior to Chateau Elan he taught at and led programs at various locations including The Woodlands Country Club, Giammalva Racquet Club, and West Lake Country Club. As a junior, he was ranked among Venezuela’s top 10 players and excelled as a highly-ranked junior player in Texas. Alejandro is also certified as an ATP Professional Tennis Coach, along with holding USPTA and PPR certifications. Now at Chateau Elan, he stages introductory Tennis 101 clinics for those new to the game and Tennis 201 for those getting back to playing as well as the usual private and semi private lessons. Regular programming includes Fast Feed cardio sessions, open clinics, and junior programs. In addition, several times a year Cliff Drysdale Tennis stages Tennis and Wine weekends or Pickleball and Wine weekends that supplement the on-court sessions with private tour and tasting a local winery.

Very much enjoyed our three day tennis clinic at Chateau Elan. The pros there made it an amazing experience for everyone. They helped raise everyone’s tennis performance and made it a fun time, all the time. I strongly recommend tennis players looking to improve their skill level and enjoy a great time to attend a clinic at one of their locations.

We had a blast at CDT camp in Atlanta at the Chateau Elan. Our tennis pros were phenomenal and I really feel that the camp was impactful. I’m ready to level up my game and I would highly recommend this camp to other tennis players and enthusiasts.

Wanted to leave a quick review on our experience with tennis. My friends and I, came to chateau for the weekend and we learned how to play pickleball with Alex. He was really good at explaining all the rules and the basics. By the end of the lesson we were able to play a few matches. Definitely the highlight of the weekend.

The tennis camp was great and the staff were amazing. Loved the format and feedback. Would highly recommend
Chateau elan was beautiful and a great place for a tennis camp with fantastic amenities, such as a full service spa, pool, winery, and restaurants. You really did not have to leave the property. However, the hotel was very understaffed so service was not up to par.

The resort is beautiful and pickleball courts are in great conditions

I have played a couple pickleball tournaments at Chateu Elan racquet club, I have to say that having played in different places around the Atlanta metro area, this facility was by far the most enjoyable experience. The tournament director Alex had everything prepared from greeting the players to a very organized schedule, I had lots of fun and definitely plan to come back as they organize more events. If you want to enjoy your sport at a great venue, and have a great experience all around, Chateau Elan is your best choice!

My husband and I moved to Braselton, Georgia and found the perfect home for us in the Chateau Elan neighborhood. My husband golfs but I only play tennis and was very angst about my new tennis life here. Thankfully, the resort hired Alejandro Aguirre about three years ago and he is a huge asset for the resort. His drills are excellent (not as easy as you might think) and I’ve made a point to hit weekly with Alejandro as my game continues to improve with his help. He always plans something fun to participate in around the holidays and it was really awesome when he invited the ladies tennis team from Brevard College to do an exhibition match. We’ve enjoyed the different restaurant options at the resort and I also had a great experience buying a Cliff Drysdale tennis weekend as an auction item for my former tennis Coach’s fundraiser back in Alabama. The lucky buyers said they had a great time with Alejandro too. He really is (along with his lovely wife, Maryfer), a fabulous addition to the resort.
