After more that 30 years of running tennis camps, New England Tennis Holidays (NETH) founder Kurt Grabher has passed the reins (and ball hoppers) on to Duncan Yarworth, who’s been part of the NETH staff since 2015. Duncan Yarworth, New England Tennis Holidays, Waterville Valley, NHA college player from Massachusetts, Yarworth has a breadth of tennis camp experience, having worked with adults and juniors at the Nike Amherst Tennis Camps in Massachusetts and later with the Cliff Drysdale Tennis programs at Stratton Mountain in Vermont before joining NETH. He has now taken charge of the popular New England Tennis Holiday adult programs at Waterville Valley Resort in New Hampshire. As in the past, his camps will run five hours a day on selected dates from late May into early October and will be staffed by many of the experienced pros who’ve themselves been fixtures of NETH’s summer gatherings.
There are few more beautiful places for tennis than Waterville in summer. 18 red-clay courts carpet the floor of a valley ringed by the peaks of the White Mountains. The full-service resort radiates out from a Town Square comprised of shops, restaurants, and a pond, whose waters spill over a rocky flume into a creek. Inns, lodges, and condo complexes fan out around it. Tennis aside, recreation at the resort includes a 9-hole golf course, fitness center (with two indoor courts and a spa), watersports on the pond, a chairlift to the top of the mountain (where there are hiking and mountain biking trails), and even ice skating. That makes it an ideal getaway for families, while the tennis adds an appeal to groups and singles.
Golf Courses: The resort has a 9-hole golf course, which winds around the valley floor; however guests also have privileges at the public Owl’s Nest Golf Course in Thornton, roughly a dozen miles away. Designed by Cornish, Silva & Mungeam, Inc., this 6,818-yard, par 72 championship course follows the natural topography of the Pemigewasset River and the White Mountain National Forest. It has five sets of tees on each hole, bentgrass fairways and manicured greens, which makes it accessible to golfers of any skill level.
Spa & Fitness Center: The Athletic Club has swimming pools, whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms, an indoor jogging track, and a selection of weights and cardiovascular equipment. Massages are also available.
Kayaks, pedal boats, and canoes are available for use on Corcoran’s Pond, there are mountain bike trails and a mountain-bike park, an ice-skating rink, hiking trails to the summits of the valley’s 4,000-foot peaks, and a gymnasium for basketball and indoor floor hockey.
Hiking trails abound, including a scenic 11.5-mile stretch of the Long Trail along the crest of the Green Mountains. The region is also laced with back roads suitable for bikers, both mountain and road. Summer Mountain Activities opens late in June and offer downhill mountain biking, zipline, bungee trampoline, scenic lift rides, and disc golf.

Children's programs: Waterville Valley Resort runs a summer recreation camp for children ages 4 to 16. Activities vary by age, including some specifically for teens. The resort also operates a free valley-wide shuttle bus to make getting around easy.
Dining: There are half a dozen places to eat in Waterville, from delis and pizzerias to seafood and steaks in the Wild Coyote Grill at the Athletic Club.

The instructors are friendly and provide helpful guidance. I learned a number of things that helped my game. The on-court lessons and video reviews were fun and informative. The other ‘campers’ were friendly and fun to be with too. There was a lot of tennis but it was as much vacation as it was all tennis. We were all able to socialize after camp wrapped up for the day. Waterville Valley is beautiful and playing on clay courts is a lot of fun.

If you’re looking to take your tennis game to the next level, New England Tennis Holidays is an absolute must!
From day one, the staff was exceptionally warm, welcoming, and made everyone feel right at home. What truly sets this camp apart is the exceptional individual instruction. The coaches take the time to break down your mechanics, give personalized feedback, and work with you to improve your skills.
I walked away not only having had a great time, but with a noticeable bump in my overall level of play. My serves are more consistent, my footwork is sharper, and my confidence on the court has skyrocketed. I can’t recommend this camp enough!
SF
Great program with excellent instruction and lots of individual attention. 2026 was my first year – I attended six days over three weeks – and I will definitely be going back. Duncan and his pros run a mix of drills and games that focus on strokes and tactics and keep everyone moving. I particularly enjoyed the daily video analysis of a stroke. Watching the playback of myself hitting the ball in slow motion with expert commentary by JJ was amazing and I have already been able to make some little adjustments that have made a big difference in my game. Wonderful atmosphere with many players who return year after year and I can see why.
JC
Duncan, JJ and Eric are the best! They are so much fun and such great instructors. They make each day fly by. This was my 5th consecutive year at the camp and I still come away learning so much. Can’t wait to go back again next year!
JS
For context: early 50s male, 3.0 rating. During the most recent camp I learned how to hit a backhand slice, a simple tip that has dramatically improved my serve, and court tactics to help me win more points. The coaches are knowledgable and fun to be around (I dare you not to laugh). The video component really helps you SEE the flaws in your technique. The facilities are well maintained, and you really can’t beat the beautiful surroundings. I plan to return next summer.
BB
I’ve been to NETH many times over the years, and I always come away feeling like my game has improved in such a short time. Duncan and his team of pros are excellent at identifying small tweaks to help elevate what you already have. The drills are fun and engaging, the video analysis is extremely valuable, the setting can’t be beat, and it’s a great time overall!

Both my wife and I very much enjoyed this New England Tennis Camp experience. The tennis was great, the courts were nice, the teaching was first class, the hotel was lovely, and the Waterville Valley ambience was sensational!

Fantastic experience, coaching, and setting. What are you waiting for?

Such a fun weekend! Great instructors who customize your experience based on what you want to work on. Good mix of fun and improving your technique and game. Highly recommend.

I just finished the tennis camp at New England Tennis Vacations, and it was amazing! The coaches are absolute experts. Duncan, JJ and Eric gave me great personal feedback that fixed my serve and forehand right away. The drills were fun and kept us moving. The program is appropriate for all levels of players, and the groups were broken up to suite are levels and needs. I met wonderful people and learned so much. My game feels totally upgraded. The location is picture perfect and made the stay even better. I strongly recommend this camp to any adult who wants to improve and have a blast!
GP
I love NETH! If you’re a 5.0 or 6.0 – congratulations! But come here with your friends who are always asking you to teach them how to play better, hang out, have fun, rip some balls, get some pointers, then go soak in the icey cold river enjoy the valley and you’ll still have a blast anyway. Duncan and JJ and Eric and the other pros are all awesome. Really good people who are friendly and personable, and patient and can honestly improve your game in just one day. I’ve been coming to NETH since 2009 and my game has shown visible improvement every single year.
Waterville Valley makes for a great backdrop. My only recommendation would be to rent an AirBnb or VRBO in the valley and plan to make some meals at the house. But otherwise, the Valley is a lot of fun, you can do some disc golfing, or they’re putting in a minigolf course, and they put in a new bar with a golf simulator and darts. It’s a fun hang. You aren’t going to have a lot of energy after 5 hours of tennis a day anyway!
If you come, talk to the other guests, and you’ll see just how many people are repeat customers who come over and over again and bring their friends along every year too. If you love tennis, and fresh air and mountains, you’ll be hard press to find something better.
CP
I have been back 3 times with my team and we’ve had a blast every year! The instruction is great, fun, fast paced…. perfect for what we were looking for.
SR
I’ve done a day or two of clinics with Duncan at New England Tennis Holidays each of the last few years.
I am impressed by Duncan‘s ability to teach players at various levels. He is very attuned to each player’s learning needs and ingeniously shapes the drills around those needs. In addition he makes the sessions fun!
JJ
Excellent tennis camp for adults wanting to improve their tennis game. Some of the highlights: great pro-to-participant ratio, effective instruction that involves a good mix of drills and point play, and a positive & fun learning environment. I have been to the camp twice and will return again in the future.
BG
I can’t say enough about my experience with New England Tennis Holidays. It’s both fun and instructive with a lot of playing as well as focus on strokes. Duncan breaks it down in the morning with an emphasis on a particular stroke, followed up by a video and analysis of where you’re at. In the afternoon you get to put it all into practice. It was a great weekend of getting to know other players at all levels. With the beautiful setting and enthusiasm from the coaches you can’t go wrong.
LP
NETH is such a great getaway. I look forward to it every year. I’ve been multiple years now. I’ve gone with teammates, girls trip, and most recently with my two teen boys. The instruction is top notch. They do a great job grouping to accommodate all levels. The area is beyond breathtaking. If you are looking for tennis and relaxation…this is the spot for you. You’ll improve your game while having fun and meeting new people who love the sport! Duncan and his team are the best! Already trying to plan a fall trip!
JC
My experience was mostly good with exception of the last 45 minutes. I feel they should have rotated people . I pretty much had very little play due to .the limited abilities of my opponents.
Also the bathroom outhouse was not clean.
CH
Wow! It’s the highlight of the year. Seven years straight. Fabulous instruction! Love the drills and especially the video analysis!! Yes, we’ll be there again in 2027!!
AU
Did a 3 day Tennis camp in July 2026, Tennis courts were in great shape, camp started on time, had a good mix of everything , liked the video analysis . Duncan and the team of coaches do a good job with instructions, drills and point play . By the end of each day I was very tired , did some recovery , dinner and sleep. Limited food options for Breakfast and Dinner but it was good enough. Looking forward to join again next year. Lodging was less than 5 mins away , all in all , it was a great tennis vacation.

My USTA team and I recently spent our fourth annual weekend at New England Tennis Holidays in Waterville Valley. We played on the red clay until rain sent us to the on-site indoor courts, a real bonus in NH.
Tennis camp is a lot of fun! Five hours flies by but is enough time to reinforce and integrate what you’re working on, as well as time for some good natured heated competition. It really felt like there was a nice progression of skills and strategies across both days. Thank you Duncan, JJ, Eric and Bob. We’ll be back.
NB
Duncan and his instructors were excellent! They helped with techniques, skills and situations we face during matches. Lots of different activities to try out the skills and strategies we were instructed on. The only suggestion and it’s a big deal, is to have real bathrooms or at least a clean porter potty. More than 1 porter potty would be nice too.
MH
Duncan and his team were fabulous. Not only did we have a fun time but we all took away some great tips to use in our tennis matches. They use videos to review what we do right and what corrections we needed to be made, which was very helpful. I highly recommend Duncan’s clinics. Thank you for a great and memorable weekend for our ladies weekend away!
KG
A bunch of my tennis friends and I scheduled New England tennis holiday to celebrate our collective 50th birthday and we had an absolute blast. Dunne and his team provided excellent instruction, personalized feedback, so many helpful tips, mixed with a bunch of fun games. The Golden Eagle Lodge, which gives you a discount on lodging when you book the camp, was an awe some and super convenient place to stay. The whole weekend could not have worked out better and Duncan and his team made it very easy!
JW
Wonderful weekend – learned some new tricks after many years of playing tennis that will definitely stay with me and all the pros were fun, helpful and engaging! Highly recommend!
CK
Fantastic program! The videos of our serves and forehand stroke were super helpful. Duncan and all the pros were friendly and engaging. Would highly recommend.
CP
Our group of six had a wonderful experience attending New England Tennis Holidays to celebrate several 50th birthdays! Duncan and his team were exprienced, fun, and flexible, when we needed to move inside due to weather! I received numerous tips and feedback and being recorded and going over the videos together, helped me hone in on areas of my game to work on! I highly recommend and the entire area is gorgous, the accomodations were wonderful, and being able to enjoy a hot tub after the tennis and walk to dinner made the entire weekend getaway extremely enjoyable! I would definitely go back!
NP
I had a great experience at NETH! We had a smaller group and Duncan did a great job accommodating us. We did a perfect mix of drills and point play to keep things fun and to gain instant practice learning new strategies and techniques. I definitely learned a lot and the vibes were great.
The area is beautiful to play in with a really relaxed vacation-like atmosphere. It did rain one day, but the indoor backup facility was nice, so you don’t need to worry about missing tennis for weather.

My wife and I attended the New England Tennis Holidays (NETH) Tennis Camp for five days in August. We had never attended a camp before, but what we found was fantastic. The lessons and exercises were both challenging and fun. We are both Senior Citizens and relatively new to Tennis. (We both started playing Tennis only 5 years ago. ) The (NETH) did a great job of combining skills instructions with game like strategies. Duncan and his assistants were attentive to everyone’s needs and abilities. We wish his camp were a little closer to where we live in South Carolina. 1200 miles is a bit far to go for Tennis instruction, but it was definitely worth it, and we will be giving serious consideration to making the trip again.
TO
NETH is great. Duncan and his team do a fantastic job coaching helping everyone get better no matter what your level is. Whether it’s a group of 20 or 4, the drills and clinics help really cauterize the form and muscle memory of your game. I’ve been a customer since 2007 and I’ll go again next year.
CY
The instructors were very patient while explaining and giving instructions. They were personable which made the experience fun. It was my first experience. It was well worth the time spent improving and learning different aspects of tennis. The folks in my group were great.
LW
If you’re looking to improve your tennis game, going to this camp is a great start. You get lots of practical tips, which you can immediately put into practice. Being video recorded and watching the playback and getting feedback is super helpful. The ratio of pros to campers means you get a lot of individual attention. Most of the pros are very knowledgeable and good teachers. The energy is fun and nonjudgmental, with drills, games, and play that all feel well thought out. And the camp is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains.
TA
We recently attended this tennis camp in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire couldn’t be happier with the experience! We initially signed up for 3 days, but we were so impressed with the instruction and overall atmosphere that we decided to add a 4th day—something we hadn’t planned on but are so glad we did!
We are relatively new tennis players, but Duncan, the head of the program, is a truly exceptional coach who fosters a learning environment that is welcoming to new and seasoned players alike. He and his team provided thoughtful, personalized feedback with tons of drills and game-play that helped us improve with every session. As an added bonus, the mountain setting of this camp is awesome as well!
We highly recommend this camp and are already looking forward to returning next year!

NETH Waterville Valley is the best! I’ve been many years now with teammates, friends and most recently brought my two teen boys who both play on high school teams. The instruction is top notch. Tons of fun and the area is just gorgeous. If you love tennis this is a must do! Duncan will make sure your group has fun and also ensures your instruction is catered to your level.
VT
I had such a great experience at NE Tennis Holidays! The coaches are great, and really know how to make the game fun while still helping you improve. The setting is beautiful—playing tennis outdoors with mountain views made it even more enjoyable. The program is well organized, with a perfect balance of drills, match play, and personal instruction.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great tennis experience in a gorgeous location! See you next Summer! 🎾

New England Tennis Holidays is fun. I love the camp. I go every year! Like the instructors- so fun- and I always am able to pick something new that I’ve been told that I will work on when I get home.. I love the location. It’s only three hours or so away from me in RhodeIsland and after 10 years I’ll be back again.! Thx all. Duncan- JJ and Eric this year.
ML
I am a big fan of New England Tennis Holidays as it offers a sensational experience for tennis junkies. I have been a regular attendee for years now and love the approach of Duncan and his staff. The mix of support, fun and specific, progressive situational instruction is the best I have ever experienced. Every time I attend I know I will have fun and improve my game!
SL
My husband and I have been coming back annually for years and LOVE IT! Duncan and his team are professional, talented and fun and it is a relaxing and entertaining way to improve your game. Everyone is made to feel very welcome and the weekend becomes a great time of camaraderie, encouragement and friendship. We can’t wait to come back next August!
JD
This year was my first time at NETH, and I’ll definitely be back. There was a nice mix of different drills and live play. I appreciated the the positive and constructive feedback from the coaching staff. I hated watching myself on video, but there is no doubt that the feedback from those sessions has improved my game. The courts were great, and the mountain scenery was gorgeous. Duncan, JJ, and Eric were great at keeping the entire group motivated and engaged. There were groups of friends, couples, and a few players like myself who ventured to camp solo. Every single person was encouraging and welcoming, which I think speaks to the environment created by Duncan and his team. I left each day with my body exhausted, but ready to jump back in again the next day. I’m looking forward to my next visit!
BO
I feel like I learn something new and improve my tennis game every time we come to NE Tennis Holidays. Duncan, Eric and JJ are fun guys. The drills and games they come up with are interesting and challenging and leave you exhausted and sore but definitely smiling while soaking in the hot tub at the end of each day. Seeing videos of your strokes and getting detailed feedback is extremely helpful. The clay courts are well-maintained and the surrounding mountains are gorgeous. We’ve come four years straight now. It’s definitely a highlight of the summer. Five stars!
FR
Roughly 15 years ago, four tennis buddies and I attended the North Conway tennis camp and to this day, we remember JJ. He was definitely a fun instructor and actually taught all of us how to hit a semi-open forehand…the forehand I’m using today!
GP
Been coming for years and it’s always a lot of fun. More importantly, my game always improves. The atmosphere is super casual and fun. The views in the valley are stunning. It’s a great way to spend a weekend with some friends and a great way to get some exercise. It’s the perfect combo of learning and fun.
DJ
Great experience second year in a row. Coaching and drills were excellent and kept everyone moving. Still processing everything I learned as Duncan and his crew gave great tips for all parts of my game. Waterville is beautiful with great amenities all within walking distance. Can’t wait to return next year!
KJ
This camp is fantastic. Five hours of tennis a day on clay courts with mountain views. Coaches are great. Every year I gain tips to improve my game. The video analysis really helps to understand needed improvements. Would recommend for all levels.
AP
This was my first experience at an away Tennis Camp. The pros were excellent! Focused on keeping technique and drills fun, fast moving and then implementing the skills into actual singles/doubles playing. I attended for 2 days and met/played with the nicest fellow campers. I am already looking forward to next year!!
MP
Been attending New England Tennis Holidays for years…following them from North Conway, to Sugarbush, and now to Waterville Valley. I still look forward to it every year and seeing Duncan and his crew of familiar faces. There is always a great atmosphere of camaraderie amongst the teaching staff, staff to students, and even student to student. This season there were a few solo students in the mix and they blended right in as if we had been playing together every year.
The setting is stunning the valley. The clay courts cascading down the hill as you look up at the mountains is fantastic. The valley is a little get away and for those that love the outdoors, you’ll find plenty to do…if you ever want to stop hitting tennis balls.
Duncan and his staff do a wonderful job keeping things moving and engaging everyone. They will take extra time to answer your questions and help you with what ever stroke you are trying to groove. If you are extra “lucky” you’ll even get JJ’s special feeds, just so you know you know that improvement never ends.
It’s a special place with a special group of instructors. Wherever you may reside, try to make it at least one-time. More than likely, you’ll want to head back again.
We want to see your racquet sports vacations! When you’re documenting your trip, tag @TennisResortsOnline on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn and use #TROAdventures for a chance to be featured on our page.

The instructors were very patient while explaining and giving instructions. They were personable which made the experience fun. It was my first experience. It was well worth the time spent improving and learning different aspects of tennis. The folks in my group were great.
Five stars!
Roughly 15 years ago, four tennis buddies and I attended the North Conway tennis camp and to this day, we remember JJ. He was definitely a fun instructor and actually taught all of us how to hit a semi-open forehand…the forehand I’m using today!
Been coming for years and it’s always a lot of fun. More importantly, my game always improves. The atmosphere is super casual and fun. The views in the valley are stunning. It’s a great way to spend a weekend with some friends and a great way to get some exercise. It’s the perfect combo of learning and fun.
Great experience second year in a row. Coaching and drills were excellent and kept everyone moving. Still processing everything I learned as Duncan and his crew gave great tips for all parts of my game. Waterville is beautiful with great amenities all within walking distance. Can’t wait to return next year!
This camp is fantastic. Five hours of tennis a day on clay courts with mountain views. Coaches are great. Every year I gain tips to improve my game. The video analysis really helps to understand needed improvements. Would recommend for all levels.
This was my first experience at an away Tennis Camp. The pros were excellent! Focused on keeping technique and drills fun, fast moving and then implementing the skills into actual singles/doubles playing. I attended for 2 days and met/played with the nicest fellow campers. I am already looking forward to next year!!
