Over Three Decades of Programming, With a Modern Take
New England Tennis Holidays has been operating camps since 1988, with programming originally starting in North Conway at Cranmore. Over the years, the program has shifted locations, adjusted and modernized instruction, but the core features of the camp haven’t changed – and that’s what sets them apart from other clinic options.
More Than a Camp
New England Tennis Holidays feature all the best qualities of a camp while also offering downtime, socialization, and even technological advancements like video analysis. While many clinics feature a focus on certain areas of your game, these camps actually are progressive and build off of each previous session and day, giving players an opportunity to utilize what they learned previously and to continue developing their skills along the way.
Each day typically consists of five hours of training, with a morning inclusive of warm-up drills and group stations such as technical drills, live ball drills, and video analysis, all of which have a daily theme associated. Before lunch, the AM program concludes with a large group game before guests typically dine at Olde Waterville Pizza Company. Following lunch, players will engage in a quick warm-up drill, go back through some technical instruction on a new topic, do live drills, and wrap up around 3pm after live play. From there, players are free to enjoy the remainder of their afternoon and evening as they see fit.
What You Can Expect
While the focus of the camp is primarily on the tennis aspect, many returning guests will comment on the camaraderie and social aspect of New England Tennis Holidays. Players will meet others from around the country in a familiar setting and oftentimes end up returning annually with the same group. There’s so many incredible aspects of the camp other than the training, including experiencing the stunning backdrop and landscape around the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Guests enjoy hiking, biking, paddling, and other outdoor activities when they’re not competing or growing their game.
